The membrane (40, 90) has a convex domed shape projecting outwardly from said pump chamber (1) and is made of a resiliently flexible material, the apex of the domed membrane being acted upon by said actuating means, said actuating means having a stroke which may be adjusted to the amount of the dose to be administered. The invention also relates to a valve for a pump chamber.

摘要： This invention relates to a self-closing apparatus which enables flowable substance present in a container to be dispensed therefrom. The apparatus includes a flexible diaphragm having an outlet aperture, and a stud which is fixed in relation to the diaphragm and which is located inwardly thereof, wherein the stud so coacts with the outlet aperture that the diaphragm in its normal position will rest with its outlet aperture resiliently in abutment with the stud and therewith close the container, and so that upon application of a pressure difference across the diaphragm to dispense substance from the container, the diaphragm will resiliently move away from the stud and therewith expose the outlet aperture. The diaphragm includes at least two deformation zones which are spaced at different distances from the outlet aperture, wherein these deformation zones extend around the outlet aperture, and are disposed as concentric circles having a center in the outlet aperture, and have the form of folds which include weakenings in the diaphragm thickness, thereby enabling the remainder of the diaphragm to have an uneven thickness without detrimentally affecting the mutual coaction between stud and diaphragm as the closure apparatus opens and closes.

摘要： A self-closing closure for use with a container, the closure opening automatically upon the application of opening pressure to the contents of the container and being self-closing upon the release of pressure. A pair of resilient discs or diaphragms are employed which in the closed position have their convex surfaces facing each other. One of these discs carries the valve opening and the other disc supports the valve stem which projects into and seals the opening in the closed position of the closure. Upon the application of opening pressure to the container contents, the resilient discs move axially of the closure and the convex surfaces change to concave surfaces. The valve stem is drawn away from the opening. The large axial movement of the discs is attained with minimal pressure yet secures a large opening area for dispensing the contents.
