    摘要: A tubeless pneumatic vehicle tire having resistance to air permeability in the absence of an innerliner comprises a tread, one or more reinforcing belts, sidewalls, one or more body plies and beads. The rubber skim of the innermost body ply is formed from a rubber composition which is resistant to air permeability. The rubber composition comprises: (a) from about 10 to about 60 parts by weight of natural rubber; (b) from about 20 to about 30 parts by weight of a halogenated butyl rubber; (c) from about 20 to about 30 parts by weight of epichlorohydrin rubber; and (d) from about 5 to about 50 parts by weight of a metal salt-containing material selected from the group consisting of a metal salt of an unsaturated carboxylic acid and a graft copolymer comprising a diene monomer or copolymer backbone having pendently grafted thereto a polymerized metal salt of an unsaturated carboxylic acid.

    摘要: A sulfur-vulcanizable rubber compound, being devoid of peroxide components, having high modulus and low hysteresis properties subsequent to vulcanization. Such compounds comprise from about 25 to 55 parts by weight of polyisoprene; and from about 75 to 45 parts by weight of a diene polymer selected from the group consisting of homopolymers of conjugated diene monomers and copolymers thereof with monoolefin monomers and EPDM terpolymers to total 100 parts by weight of rubber polymer; from about 50 to 70 parts by weight of a reinforcing filler, per 100 parts by weight wherein at least a portion of at least one of the rubber polymers is grafted with a polymeric metal salt of an .alpha., .beta.-ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid to form an uncured graft rubber copolymer and at least about 4 parts by weight of a curative selected from the group consisting of sulfur and sulfur donors, per 100 parts by weight of rubber. Pneumatic tires and structural components therefor are manufactured from rubber compounds having high modulus, low hysteresis and high compressive flex fatigue and provide run flat operation.

    摘要: A graft copolymer rubber comprising an unsaturated hydrocarbon rubber backbone having pendently grafted thereto a polymerized metal salt of an unsaturated carboxylic acid is provided. The graft copolymer rubber is prepared by a method which involves dissolving an unsaturated hydrocarbon rubber in a solvent to form a rubber solution, adding a metal salt of an unsaturated carboxylic acid to the solution, adding a free radical initiator to the solution and then heating the resultant reaction mixture at a temperature of from about 40 to about 150.degree. C. for a time period of from about 0.1 to about 100 hours.The resultant graft copolymer rubber is sulfur curable and when compounded with conventional rubber additives and cured forms rubber compounds having high modulus. The graft copolymer rubbers of the invention can be used in various end use applications where high strength properties are important such as tires, industrial rubber goods and the like.

    摘要: Rubber compositions and articles such as tires having improved metal adhesion and metal adhesion retention to brass and brass-plated metallic reinforcement. The improvement comprises admixing from about 0.2 to about 6.0 parts per hundred rubber (phr) of a compound selected from the group consisting of 3-amino-2-carboxy-4-chlorobenzophenone, 3-hydroxy-2-methyldiphenylamine and 5-amino-2-methyl-N-phenylbenzensulfonamide and mixtures thereof with a vulcanizable rubber composition prior to embedding the metallic reinforcement therein and curing. A method for improving the metal adhesion and metal adhesion retention between a vulcanizable rubber and brass or brass-plated metallic reinforcement includes the step of dispersing from about 0.2 to about 6.0 phr of a compound selected from the group consisting of 3-amino-2-carboxy-4-chlorobenzophenone, 3-hydroxy-2-methyldiphenylamine and 5-amino-2-methyl-N-phenylbenzenesulfonamide and mixtures thereof in a vulcanizable rubber composition prior to curing.

    摘要: This invention is directed to a method, a rubber skim stock and a product containing the skim stock having improved adhesion between a metal member and contiguous rubber skim stock. The invention lies in the discovery that improved rubber-to-metal adhesion can be obtained by adding to an otherwise conventional rubber skim stock composition appropriate amounts of either p-aminobenzoic acid or a cobalt salt of p-aminobenzoic acid.The method of this invention comprises the steps of mixing the p-aminobenzoic acid or cobalt salt of p-aminobenzoic acid into a rubber composition, bringing this composition into contiguous relationship with a metal member in an unvulcanized product and vulcanizing the product to yield the end product.

    摘要: This invention is directed to a method, a rubber skim stock and a product containing the skim stock having improved adhesion between a metal member and contiguous rubber skim stock.     摘要: This invention is directed to a rubber skim stock and a product containing the skim stock having improved adhesion between a brassed metal member and contiguous rubber skim stock. The invention lies in the discovery that improved rubber-to-metal adhesion, and adhesion retention, can be obtained by adding to an otherwise conventional rubber skim stock composition appropriate amounts of sulfides of copper.In the practice of this invention, a sulfide of copper is mixed into a rubber skim stock composition, which composition is brought into contiguous relationship with a brassed metal member in the unvulcanized composition followed by vulcanization to yield the end product.
