Abstract:
A clutch assembly capable of providing several predetermined settings, wherein the components which support springs applying torque are not subjected to bending loads. The settings are achieved in that a supporting ring supporting a pressure plate against a clutch housing is provided with radially outwardly extending cams which are offset relative to the center thereof with two rows of apertures being provided in a cylindrical face of the clutch housing which are axially offset and offset relative to the angle of rotation and which correspond to the cams of the supporting ring and within which the cams are engaged.
Abstract:
An improvement in the method for the production of a highly aromatic pitch-like coal by-product by dissolving comminuted coal or similar solid carbon-containing raw materials with aromatic solvents at elevated temperature is disclosed wherein the solid materials are dissolved at atmospheric pressure in aromatic compound mixtures of coal origin with an average boiling point above 350.degree. C. and recycling of the condensable fractions of the reaction gas. If the occasion arises, further aromatic solvents may be added to the suspension.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a discharge apparatus for a plant protection product with a container (1) which encloses an interior (7) for accommodating the plant protection product and which comprises a discharge orifice (9). The discharge apparatus according to the invention is characterized by a suction tube (3) which comprises a first orifice (10) in the interior (7) of the container (1), a second orifice (5) at the discharge orifice (9) of the container (1) and a third orifice (4) in the interior (7) of the container (1), which third orifice (4) is arranged at a distance from the first orifice (10), and a pump (2), which is in particular arranged in the interior (7) of the container (1) and is in operative connection with the suction tube (3), such that plant protection product located in the container (1) may be delivered by means of the pump through the suction tube (3) from the first orifice (10) of the suction tube to the second and the third orifices (5, 4) of the suction tube (3). The invention further relates to the use of such a discharge apparatus for discharging a plant protection product which is located in the interior (7) of the container (1).
Abstract:
A filter for medical fluids comprises a hydrophilic membrane (18) dividing the filter into an inlet chamber (20) and an outlet chamber (22). This prevents air from penetrating the outlet chamber (22). The air retained in the inlet chamber (20) is discharged through vent holes (30, 32). Each vent hole (30, 32) is covered with a hydrophobic membrane (34, 36). According to the invention one of the vent holes (30) is provided in a front wall (38) opposite the hydrophilic membrane (18). The other vent hole (32) is provided in a rear wall (46) located opposite the front wall (38) so that the two vent holes (30, 32) point in opposite directions. Owing to this arrangement of the two vent holes (30, 32) one vent hole (30, 32) points upwards irrespective of the filter position. This improves venting of the inlet chamber (20).
Abstract:
A spectral analysis device for determining the additions to the steel and an apparatus for generating laser beams are connected via adjustable and switchable couplable optical waveguides to the agitating gas nozzles disposed in the bottom of a converter, the radiation passing through the agitating gas nozzles being converted via metallized agitating gas nozzles and photoamplifiers to measurable intensities.
Abstract:
The surfaces of antifriction elements and other steel surfaces in mutual sliding contact are improved by first degreasing the surfaces in a mild alkaline aqueous degreasing bath at a pH of about 7 to 10, by then rinsing with cold water, by browning the surfaces in a saturated aqueous solution of a selected salt material at temperatures of from 128.degree. to 135.degree. C.
Abstract:
A device and a process for continuous de-scaling of elongated metallic material, particularly steel. The material has front, center and end sections, and the process includes the steps of continuously moving the material in one direction, and shaping, particularly rolling the material, while the material center and end-sections are still subjected to the heat of a furnace, and the material has a plurality of successive areas in longitudinal direction to be de-scaled. The material is treated or de-scaled following the heating and prior to the forming thereof in predetermined cycles for a predetermined time at a predetermined degree at each of the successive areas, by spraying a fluid, particularly a liquid, on the material under high pressure. The de-scaling zone in the areas of the material is displaced in a direction opposite to the movement of the material at a relatively high velocity for the treatment time of the material to be as short as possible in relation to the degree of descaling to be accomplished.
Abstract:
The invention relates to the use of a composite material having two or more superimposed layers of wood as a support element in structural engineering, nautical, vehicle and aircraft constructions, energy production systems, mining or in the production of furniture. The wood layers are joined together by means of a one component polyurethane adhesive containing a prepolymer with free NCO groups and the wood has a structure having a volume fraction of libriform fibres of between 50%-70%.
Abstract:
A fold bellows for rotating drive joints is proposed which, although it is equipped with a plurality of folds along its length, admits large bend angles without the flanks of its folds having mutual contract for a physical bellows dimensioning which corresponds approximately to a dimensioning of known fold bellows. For this purpose the fold bellows is equipped with a joint side fold of larger diameter, with a shaft side fold of smaller diameter and with at least one further fold which is provided at an axial interval from the two other folds and is smaller than the shaft side fold in diameter.
