摘要: A method of producing an organoselenium-based nanocomposite includes acid-treating a mixture containing multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) and palm waste with phosphoric acid to form an acid-treated mixture; carbonizing the acid-treated mixture to form a MWCNT/biochar; mixing the MWCNT-biochar with TiO2 nanoparticles to form a TiO2-MWCNT/biochar; chlorinating acyl groups present on the TiO2-MWCNT/biochar to form a chlorinated TiO2-MWCNT/biochar; reacting the chlorinated TiO2-MWCNT/biochar with an organoselenium compound to form a Se—TiO2-MWCNT/biochar.

摘要: A method of making a smart optical material (SOM) including mixing polypropylene in a solvent to form a first solution. The method further includes mixing a zinc salt in 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate and heating it to form a second solution. The method further includes mixing rhodamine B and a peroxide into the second solution to form a third solution. The method further includes mixing the third solution into the first solution to form a reaction solution, wherein the peroxide initiates polymerization of the 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate to form poly(2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate). The method further includes separating the SOM from the reaction solution. The SOM has at least two bandgaps, a first bandgap is from 1.4-1.5 eV, and a second bandgap is from 1.8-1.9 eV.

摘要: The method of fabricating metal oxide nanomaterials using a thermally decomposable substrate can include combining an aqueous solution including a metal salt with a thermally decomposable solid substrate. In an embodiment, the aqueous solution can be nebulized and applied directly on the solid substrate. In an embodiment, the solid substrate can be macerated in the aqueous solution. The solid material, once combined with the aqueous solution, can then be calcined at a temperature ranging from about 400° C. to about 900° C. Calcination produces metal oxide nanoparticles and transforms the solid material into capping substrate molecules that are separated by the metal oxide ions. Thus, the metal oxide nanomaterials include capping substrate molecules separated by metal oxide nanoparticles. The present method reverses the conventional capping process by placing the metal oxide ions between the molecules of the capping substrate, which stay in place (keeping distance between ions), even during calcination.

A method of preparing the X-ray-sensitive film includes 32.5 to 45 wt % cellulose based on a total weight of the X-ray-sensitive film, a tensile modulus of 0.75 to 2.5 GPa, a tensile strength of 75 to 125 MPa/kg·m3, a water absorption of 0.00 to 0.16% measured according to ASTM D570, a carbonate content of 100 to 200 ppm, and shows no cracks when tested according to ASTM D5419.
