摘要: The technology presents filter media and methods of recycling metal-working liquids by removing metal fines and other contaminants using the filter media. An exemplary method includes a series of steps. These steps include filtering a contaminated metal-working liquid that has metal fines through an exemplary filter medium that is comprised of a carrier and a chemical agent. The carrier is impregnated with a chemical agent selected from the group consisting of phosphoric acid, polyphosphoric acid, phosphorous acid, phosphorous pentoxide, and mixtures or derivatives of these. Further, the exemplary method includes collecting a filtrate substantially free of ashable residue; and reusing the filtrate as a metal-working liquid.

摘要: A method for forming a filtration media from waste media includes combining the waste media with a binder to form a dry mixture, adding a liquid composition to the dry mixture to form a slurry, and extruding the slurry to form a filtration media. The waste media may include fines or oversized media resulting from a prior media production process that have been subjected to a hydration process. The waste media may be ground and sized prior to combining it with the binder. The binder may include clay, cellulose materials, and combinations thereof. The liquid composition may include water and optionally one or more additional additives selected from the group consisting of permanganates, acids, bases, amines and combinations thereof. In one embodiment, the slurry is extruded into a honeycomb matrix.

摘要: Nonwoven fabrics are provided that include (i) a plurality of continuous matrix fibers comprising a first polymeric material having a first melting point and including a first polymer component, in which the first polymer component comprises a first recycled-polyester, and (ii) a plurality of binder fibers having an irregular cross-section randomly dispersed throughout the plurality of matrix fibers, in which the plurality of binder fibers comprising a second polymeric material having a second melting point including a second polymer component. The second melting point being less than the first melting point.

摘要: A biodegradable filter for the removal of various pollutants, contaminants, or harmful substances from the surrounding air, and a method of fabrication. The filter includes 30% by weight of cellulose nanofibers, 30% by weight of activated carbon, and 20% by weight of polyethylene glycol. The cellulose nanofibers and activated carbon are isolated from date palm biomass, making the filter cost-effective and environmentally friendly.

摘要: A pleated filter structure includes a pleated filtering substrate and a pleated, polymer, mesh reinforcing sheet or netting for assisting in maintaining the pleated configuration of the filtering substrate. The pleated, polymer, mesh reinforcing sheet or netting includes a mechanically degraded polyalkylene terephthalate as the primary polymer therein. A method of making the pleated filter structure includes the steps of obtaining commercial articles having been made from a high crystallinity, flexible polyalkylene terephthalate; and mechanically degrading said articles to decrease the crystallinity and increase the stiffness of the polyalkylene terephthalate and extruding the mechanically degraded articles into an extruded structure stiffer and more amorphous than the polyalkylene terephthalate in the commercial articles.
