    摘要: A system for controlling automatic, multi-step or continuously variable, transmission equipped with a motor vehicle utilizing fuzzy logic. In the system, fuzzy production rules have been prepared based upon an expert driver's judgments and operation made on a vehicle with a manually shifted transmission. Various operating conditions including opening degree of a throttle valve and road speed of the vehicle are detected and from the detected value, various predictions are made such as an appropriateness of vehicle response determined from the reserve motive force with respect to a gear ratio shift intended by the driver and engine output change that would occur should the transmission be shifted to the gear ratio. These measured or estimated value are put on a common scale named universe of discourse and membership values of the rules are sucessively calculated. Among the rules, one rule is finally selected and according to the gear ratio indicated in the selected rule, the current gear ratio is shifted up or down or is held at the present ratio. Similarly, the speed ratio in the continuously variable transmission is determined from the selected rule.

    摘要: An electrochemical deposition method in which the structure of a substance to be deposited on the surface of a working electrode is determined, an electrochemical deposition apparatus, and a microstructure are provided. A positive electrode 1 and a negative electrode 2 functioning as a working electrode are arranged oppositely in a liquid tank 5 containing an electrolytic (acid) solution (hereinafter referred to as “solution”) 4 in which plural substance are dissolved in an ionic state, and then a predetermined voltage is applied between the positive electrode 1 and the negative electrode 2. A reference electrode 3 is also arranged in the liquid tank 5 and the potential between the negative electrode 2 and the reference electrode 3 is measured. Since the solution 4 can be considered as a conductor, the potential V1 of the negative electrode 2 relative to the solution 4 can be determined. Furthermore, a reaction inhibitor is admixed in the liquid tank 5, spontaneous electrochemical oscillation (current oscillation in this case) is generated in the electrochemical deposition reaction of the substances in the presence of the reaction inhibitor. The waveform of the electrochemical oscillation is controlled by regulating the potential V1 of the negative electrode, the concentrations of the substances in the solution, and the kind and concentration of the reaction inhibitor, thereby the structure of a substance to be deposited on the surface of the working electrode is determined.

    摘要: In a system for controlling a gear ratio of a multi-step geared or continuously variable automatic transmission of a vehicle, the gear ratio is determined through fuzzy production rules each having one of an ATF temperature, a steering or an engine coolant temperature. For example, the rule regarding the ATF temperature defines such that the gear position should be shifted down if the ATF temperature is high. With the arrangement, when the ATF temperature is high, the gear position is determined in the downshifting direction so that the amount of torque converter slippage can be reduced, whereby avoiding temperature rise in the transmission. And since the engine speed is relatively high at that situation, motive force could be sufficient even climbing a hill.

    摘要: Vehicle automatic transmission control system in which based on the determined operating parameters of the vehicle including degree of throttle opening, vehicle speed or the like, a plurality of sets of membership functions of the parameters are established in accordance with a plurality of sets of predetermined fuzzy production rules. Fuzzy reasoning is carried out on the sets of the rules to determine a target gear ratio to shift to. The plural sets of the rules are predetermined hierarchically. One category of rules is directed toward the entire area of shift control, whereas another category of rules is directed toward a specific shift control area such as hill climbing. Further an additional category of rules is provided to presume the driver's intentional condition such as an intention to decelerate. Based on the last category of rules, fuzzy reasoning is carried out to determine the intentional condition. The condition thus obtained is added to the first-mentioned parameters and the second fuzzy reasoning is carried out to determine the target gear ratio on the basis of the first and second category of rules.

Further, another fuzzy reasoning is carried out to ascertain the driver's intention to decelerate and the first fuzzy reasoning is carried out using the inferred value so as to reflect the driver's intention in the shift control.

    摘要: A system for controlling a lock-up clutch of a torque converter in which a target speed ratio of the torque converter of an automatic transmission of a vehicle which mechanically couples a pump impeller connected to an engine output shaft with a turbine runner connected to a transmission input shaft, is determined by carrying out a fuzzy reasoning based on fuzzy production rules using a degree of throttle opening, a grade resistance and a current speed ratio as parameters. Then a second fuzzy reasoning is carried out based on second fuzzy production rules using a deviation between the target speed ratio and the current speed ratio and the change of the deviation as parameters to determine a control value such that the lock-up clutch is controlled between a position at which the clutch is fully engaged and a position at which the clutch is fully not engaged including an intermediate position at which the clutch is partially engaged. With this system, the lock-up control can cope with various vehicle operating conditions so that the vehicle drivability and fuel consumption is improved while suppressing engine noise. This system further enables control that is better matched to the intention, decision-making, and feelings of a human driver.
