Abstract: A depth filter with excellent filtration accuracy and pressure resistance performance even for fluids containing high density and high viscosity powder fine particles. A depth filter having a base material layer, a filtration layer, and a skin layer, in that order, wherein: the substrate layer and the skin layer are layers made by a nonwoven fabric being wound and thermally fused; the filtration layer is a laminate in which at least a nonwoven fabric and a net are laminated, being wound twice or more; and the nonwoven fabric contained in the filtration layer contains a mixed-fiber nonwoven fabric containing two or more types of fibers with mutually different average fiber diameters.

Abstract: The present invention addresses the problem of providing a nonwoven fabric that is bulky, has excellent softness, and has high strength. Provided is a nonwoven fabric in which the points at which heat fusible composite fibers intersect with each other are fused by heat. The nonwoven fabric has a high-density-side surface layer where the fiber density is 5 to 20 fibers/mm2. The ratio of the fiber density of the high-density-side surface layer and the fiber density of a low-density-side surface layer of the nonwoven fabric is 1.4 or less. The strength per unit basis weight of the nonwoven fabric is 0.40 N/50 mm or greater.

Abstract: The present invention has revealed that an antiviral agent containing a serine protease such as subtilisin, nattokinase, and trypsin has an effect of inactivating non-envelope type viruses, and that combining such an antiviral agent containing a serine protease with a cationic polymer enhances the inactivation effect of the antiviral agent against non-envelope type viruses. As a result, an antiviral agent that is highly safe, that has a high virus inactivation ability, and that contains a component that is inexpensive in terms the manufacturing cost and a cationic polymer, was discovered.
