Abstract:
Embodiments provide a novel fabrication method and structure for reducing structural weight in radio frequency cavity filters and novel filter structure. The novel filter structure is fabricated by electroplating the required structure over a mold. The electrodeposited composite layer may be formed by several layers of metal or metal alloys with compensating thermal expansion coefficients. The first or the top layer is a high conductivity material or compound such as silver having a thickness of several times the skin-depth at the intended frequency of operation. The top layer provides the vital low loss performance and high Q-factor required for such filter structures while the subsequent compound layers provide the mechanical strength.

Abstract:
It has been determined that certain dual-chambered cardiac stimulators may operate in a region in which an atrial pacing event may obscure the detection of a ventricular tachyarrhythmia. Various exemplary techniques may be used to improve the ability of dual-chamber cardiac stimulators to detect such ventricular events. In accordance with one technique, it is determined whether a ventricular event should be classified as a ventricular tachyarrhythmia. If not, the VA interval is restarted as usual. However, if the ventricular event may be classified as a ventricular tachyarrhythmia, it is determined whether the ventricular event falls within the region in which an atrial pacing event may obscure its detection. If not, then the VA interval is restarted as usual. However, if the ventricular event falls within this region, the VA interval is restarted with the VT rate detection boundary. This has the effect of lengthening the VA interval and the AA interval in this region so that atrial pacing events will not obscure the sensing and treatment of ventricular tachyarrhythmias in the region.
Abstract:
A delivery system for intranasally administering doses of a substance such as a drug, vaccine, or the like is provided. The drug delivery system includes a holder comprising a rear case and a pre-filled drug container that is securely connected to the holder. The drug container includes a cartridge for containing the drug, a movable stopper within the cartridge, and an end having an opening through which the substance within the cartridge can be expelled. The rear case is connected to the drug container at one end and an activator at the other end. Within the rear case is contained the means for activating the movable stopper within the cartridge, which acts as a plunger rod, by pressing the activator. Further provided is a nozzle able to be attached to the opening at the end of the drug container to provide a means for precise delivery of the drug.
Abstract:
Systems and methods are described that provide a phantom mobile telephone number that is assigned by the mobile telephone service provider, for business customers and/or customers subscribing to the service. Upon receipt of the phantom mobile telephone number at the mobile service provider's internal call routing system, the call is associated with a preexisting landline number assigned to a business. The mobile telephone call is forwarded to the preexisting landline telephone number and is not charged airtime minutes.
Abstract:
A starter stopper for use with a high intensity discharge (HID) lighting source includes a timer and switch. The timer controls the durations of on-time and off-time periods during an energizing period. The starter stopper connects the HID lighting source to power to start the HID lighting source during on-time periods, and disconnects the HID lighting source from the power to start the HID lighting source during off-time periods. A method of starting and stopping an HID lighting source includes initiating an energizing period in response to application of power to a starter stopper, enabling the HID lighting source to be connected to power to start the HID lighting source during on-time periods by the starter stopper, enabling the HID lighting source to be disconnected from the power to start the HID lighting source during off-time periods by the starter stopper, and stopping the energizing period in response to removal of the power to the starter stopper.
Abstract:
A receptacle assembly for a twist-lock photocontrol that is mounted on a luminaire housing. The assembly includes a receptacle and a spring clamp. The receptacle has a disc portion with a hub extending from the central portion of the back side, a perimeter side wall with a castellated bottom edge that engages stops on the luminaire housing. Three fingers extend from the back side of the disc and terminate at a lip edge. The spring clamp has a substantially flat, ring-shaped body that includes a top surface, an opening, an inner edge, an outer edge, and at least one pair of spring members. The receptacle is attached to a luminaire housing using the spring clamp. The orientation of the receptacle can be adjusted and can be locked into a stationary position without tools.
Abstract:
A volatile material vaporizing apparatus features a heating element and heating element controls supported in separate housings to avoid exposure of the controls to heat produced by the heating element. Another embodiment features an elongate heating element supported entirely within a housing having an open end sized to fit over the bowl of an existing smoking device so that drawing air through the smoking device induces airflow into an inlet opening of the housing, along the heating element disposed therein, and onward to the smoking device. In another embodiment, a housing includes a plug portion slidable into a cigarette lighter socket of a vehicle to establish connection with electrical contacts therein. A heating chamber opposite the plug portion is in fluid communication with a heating element in the housing, and an inlet opening allows airflow into the housing for flow along the heating element into the heating chamber.
Abstract:
A thermal mass flow measuring apparatus comprises a sheath having an interior surface and a protective exterior surface. A liquid material having a thermal conductivity greater than about 12 w/(m·° C.) is disposed within the sheath in contact with the interior surface of the sheath. A sensor element, such as a thin-film thermoresistive element or a wire-wound thermoresistive element is at least partially submerged in the liquid material. The liquid material, which is preferably liquid metal, decreases the overall thermal resistance between the outer surface of the sheath and the sensor element.
Abstract:
A modular design repeater platform that allows unique deployment configurations and rapid upgrading, and modifications to a deployed system in a wireless or fiber optic network system is disclosed. The platforms include fiber transport and radio transport systems. The system includes a base unit coupled to one or more RF modules. The components employ a flange—recess design and pedestal mounts to securely couple the components together.
