    摘要： A method for selecting a membrane protein with increased stability, the method comprising: a) providing one or more mutants of a parent membrane protein in a membrane-containing composition, wherein the one or more mutants are exposed to an amount of a membrane destabilizing agent which is effective to destabilize the parent membrane protein in-situ, b) determining whether the or each mutant membrane protein has increased stability with respect to its structure and/or a biological activity compared to the stability of the parent membrane protein with respect to its structure and/or the same biological activity, and c) selecting the one or more mutants which have increased stability compared to the stability of the parent membrane protein.

    摘要： An appliance such as a dishwasher is configured to re-circulate air to reduce the amount of air with high moisture content that is expelled from the dishwasher. In one embodiment, the dishwasher comprises a wash zone in which objects are positioned to be washed and a door assembly, secured to the dishwasher in sealing engagement. Air from an upper region of the wash zone is drawn into a door cavity in the door assembly and re-circulated to a lower region of the wash zone. Inside of the door cavity is a thermal sink with a surface on which vapor in the air condenses, thereby lowering the relative humidity of the air that is ejected from the door assembly and into the lower region of the wash zone.

The submergence chamber is defined by a side wall and includes an inlet in communication with an associated molten metal bath and an outlet in communication with the associated molten metal bath. The inlet is positioned in relation to the side wall such that material passing through the inlet is introduced at least substantially tangentially to the side wall. The inlet pipe is in communication with the inlet of the submergence chamber. The inlet pipe is configured to depend from a wall of the submergence chamber within the confines of the side wall. The vortex breaker is disposed in the submergence chamber between the inlet and the outlet.

    摘要： The present invention enables an IC to have a fast PWM while maintaining the low frequency clock requirement of the temperature measurement. Methods are presented to increase the resolution of the control using a relatively low input clock. According to one method, the numerator and denominator of the PWM duty cycle equation are adjusted to achieve a desired resolution. According to another method, a determined number of PWM cycles are used to set the PWM duty cycle. For example, an averaging of 1024 duty cycles may be used to achieve an increased resolution of the duty cycle as compared to using only one duty cycle. According to yet another method, an error integrating loop is used to determine the level of the next cycle. The number of cycles used to reach the target PWM duty cycle depends on the desired resolution.

    摘要： An adjustable king pin assembly for releasably mating with a fifth wheel assembly on a tractor-trailer arrangement. The king pin is secured to a plate which plate is slidably positioned for longitudinal movement with respect to the frame of the trailer in a space between spaced, elongated, longitudinally aligned guide bars. Spaced longitudinally aligned apertures are provided in the plate or guide bars, and an appropriate locking mechanism, secured to the assembly, is releasably movable into locking position in any one of each one of the apertures to securely hold the plate in position against longitudinal movement. An appropriate mechanical control mechanism is provided for moving the locking means from and into locking position. The assembly according to the invention provides an economical and easy-to-operate system for longitudinally positioning the king pin.
