Abstract:
There is provided a pneumatic tire having an aspect ratio of not less than 60 and considerably improving run flat durability as compared with the conventional type of the run flat tire, wherein at least one cushion rubber layer having a loss tangent lower than a loss tangent (tan &dgr;) of a coating rubber for cords of a carcass ply is arranged between an end portion of a belt and a reinforcing rubber layer in a shoulder region and between mutually adjacent tire constitutional members. And also, when the carcass is comprised of plural plies, at least one ply is separated off in a zone beneath the belt, whereby the ride comfort against vibrations can be more improved.
Abstract:
In a pneumatic tire for run-flat running comprising a stiffener rubber, viewing a cross-section of the tire-rim assembly inflated under an air pressure corresponding to 15% of a maximum air pressure of the tire, a top of the stiffener rubber is located inward from a specified line segment PA in a radial direction of the tire.
Abstract:
A pneumatic tire having an aspect ratio of not less than 60 comprises a radial carcass of one or more plies, a belt, a bead filler rubber and a rubber reinforcing layer of substantially a crescent shape in section extending from a position near to a bead core to a position near to a tread end along an inner surface of an innermost carcass ply, wherein at least one rubber protection sheet being relatively soft is disposed between the bead filler rubber and the carcass ply surrounding it and/or between the rubber reinforcing layer and the carcass ply nearest thereto.
Abstract:
A rubber-steel cord composite comprising a steel cord having, in a planar image of the steel cord formed by X-rays passing through the steel cord, a fraction R of the total area occupied by filaments of from 0.45 or more to 0.95 or less in an arbitrarily selected portion of the steel cord having a length of 15 mm in an axial direction of the cord, is provided. The length of 15 mm in an axial direction of the cord means a length of 15 mm in an axial direction of an actual cord and the fraction R of the total area occupied by the filaments is expressed as R=F/A, wherein A represents the total area of the cord and F represents the area of the cord occupied by the filaments. An object of the present invention is to provide a pneumatic tire for passenger cars that shows no separation of the interface of adhesion during use, particularly during use in the run-flat condition, and exhibits excellent durability.

Abstract:
A pneumatic tire which is used for a vehicle and obtained after a rubber material is formed by vulcanization. A cap portion (12A), which is an upper layer of a tread and directly contacts the road surface, is a foam rubber which includes innumerable elongated closed cells (24). The outer portion of the elongated closed cell (24) is coated by a resinous protective layer (26). During the vulcanization process of the tire, a resin whose viscosity is lower than that of a rubber matrix and a blowing agent which generates gas are kneaded with a rubber material so as to obtain a rubber composition. The rubber composition is formed in the shape of a band and adhered to a crown portion of a raw tire casing. The resin is melted by the heat of vulcanization and the viscosity of the resin is lower than that of the rubber matrix. The gas generated in the rubber moves toward and concentrates at the inner side of the resin. Accordingly, an elongated closed cell (24) whose outer portion is provided with the resinous protective layer (26) is formed.
Abstract:
There is disclosed a safety pneumatic tire comprising a tire shell which is equipped with a toroidal carcass extending over a pair of bead portions and also functioning as a reinforcing material for a side wall portion connected to the bead portions and further for a tread portion, and which has a side-reinforcing layer on the internal surface of the side-wall portion; a rim which hermetically seals and supports the bead portions of the tire shell; and closed cell-based elastic foam which is filled in the internal hollow portion encompassed by the tire shell and the rim, wherein the constructional material of the elastic foam is butyl rubber or halogenated butyl rubber. The above safety pneumatic tire is markedly improved in run-flat durability, can reconcile favorable riding comfort chacteristic with the run-flat durability, is minimized in adverse influence upon the tire performances such as rolling resistance, and enables the production of a lightweight pneumatic tire.
Abstract:
A polyester copolymer having an aromatic amine incorporated in the main chain, which is excelent in thermal stability as well as dynamic property, and a process for the production of the polyester copolymer, whereby the existing installation of the prior art can be used as it is, thus resulting in lowering of the production cost, are provided. The polyester copolymer comprises an aromatic dicarboxylic acid, diol and at least one compound selected from the group consisting of aromatic compounds having amino group, represented by the following general formula (I),H.sub.2 N--X--COOR (I)wherein X is an aromatic ring-containing group and R is a hydrogen atom or a hydrocarbon group selected from the group consisting of alkyl groups and cycloalkyl groups.
Abstract:
A rubber composition having excellent heat resistance and a pneumatic tire produced by using this rubber composition are provided. The rubber composition has, in a curve exhibiting a change in dynamic storage modulus during elevation of temperature, an intersection of an extrapolation line of a portion in which the dynamic storage modulus is approximately constant before rapidly decreasing at temperatures higher than 100° C. and an extrapolation line of a portion in which the dynamic storage modulus rapidly decreases, at a temperature of 170° C. or higher.
Abstract:
A DVS-BCB polymer film is grown by heating a divinyl siloxane bisbenzocyclobutene (DVS-BCB) monomer in a vaporization controller with continuously supplying; supplying a carrier gas and maintaining a partial pressure of the DVS-BCB monomer at a state lower than a saturated vapor pressure, thereby to vaporize the monomer; transporting the carrier gas containing the DVS-BCB monomer from the vaporization controller to an evacuated reaction chamber; and spraying the gas on the heated surface of a substrate in the reaction chamber.
