摘要： A flame retardant that is arranged to improve the cold resistance and the productivity of a composition, a flame-retardant composition, an insulated wire, a wiring harness, and a method for manufacturing the flame-retardant composition. The flame retardant includes a pulverized natural mineral which is mainly composed of magnesium hydroxide, wherein the pulverized natural mineral is surface-treated with an organic high polymer such as polyolefin. The amount of surface treatment is within a range of 0.1 to 10 mass %. The flame-retardant composition includes 30 to 250 parts by mass of the flame retardant with respect to 100 parts by mass of an organic high polymer such as polyolefin. The insulated wire includes a conductor and the flame-retardant composition which covers the conductor, and the wiring harness includes the insulated wire.

摘要： A flame-retardant composition that is not colored during compounding and molding, and a covered electric wire using the same. The flame-retardant composition contains at least a matrix polymer such as an olefin resin, a phenolic antioxidant having tert-butyl groups in positions 2 and 6 of a hydroxyl group, and a flame retardant that is a pulverized natural mineral containing magnesium hydroxide as the main ingredient, and the iron oxide concentration in the flame retardant is 1000 ppm or less. The covered electric wire uses the flame-retardant composition as a covering material.

摘要： A bonding wire comprising a core and a coating layer formed on the core, wherein the coating layer is formed from a metal having a higher melting point than the core, and further has at least one of the following characteristics; 1. the wet contact angle with the coating layer when the core is melted is not smaller than 20 degrees; 2. when the bonding wire is hung down with its end touching a horizontal surface, and is cut at a point 15 cm above the end and thus let drop onto the horizontal surface, the curvature radius of the formed arc is 35 mm or larger; 3. the 0.2% yield strength is not smaller than 0.115 mN/μm2 but not greater than 0.165 mN/μm2; or 4. the Vickers hardness of the coating layer is 300 or lower.

摘要： A flame-retardant resin composition that has an excellent cold-resistance property and wear-resistance property even when containing as a flame retardant a metallic hydrate such as magnesium hydroxide, and an insulated wire including the composition. The resin composition contains a flame retardant mainly consisting of a metallic hydrate, and a base resin, wherein the base resin contains two or more kinds of polyolefin resins having a flexural modulus of 2000 MPa or more, wherein at least one of the polyolefin resins has a melt flow rate (MFR) of 5 g/10 min or less. The base resin preferably further contains a polyolefin resin having a melt flow rate (MFR) of more than 5 g/10 min. At least one of the polyolefin resins is preferably a polypropylene resin having a functional group. The insulated wire includes a conductor, and an insulator containing the flame-retardant resin composition, with which the conductor is covered.

The insulated wire including an insulator layer made from a composition including 96 to 44 parts by weight of (A) a polyester type resin, 4 to 56 parts by weight of (B) a polyphenylene ether type resin, 1 to 70 parts by weight of (C) one or more than one sort of polymer selected from the group consisting of a styrene type polymer, an olefin type polymer including a functional group, and a polymer including an ester group with respect to 100 parts by weight of (A) the polyester type resin and (B) the polyphenylene ether type resin, and 1 to 50 parts by weight of (D) a phosphoester compound with respect to 100 parts by weight of (A) the polyester type resin and (B) the polyphenylene ether type resin.
