摘要: A novel enzyme of bilirubin oxidase produced by a genus Myrothecium or genus Coprinus origin microorganism and a conventional enzyme of laccase are found, in the presence of a specific additive compound, e.g. a surface active agent, aromatic carboxylic acid, sulfa drug or protease, to oxidize both conjugated and unconjugated bilirubin in biological fluid to biliverdin without formation of hydrogen peroxide, such that in the case of conventional enzymatic methods of the quantitative determination of glucose, cholesterol, neutral fats, free fatty acids, phospholipids or uric acid all existing together with bilirubin in biological fluid, the usual interference with such determination, as otherwise caused by bilirubin coexisting in such fluid, can be prevented by adding such a bilirubin oxidase or laccase together with such a specific additive compound to the determinative reaction system.

摘要: An image forming apparatus includes a cartridge including at least one of an image bearing member and a developing device; a main assembly including an opening; an openable member movable between a closed position in which the opening is covered and an open position in which the opening is exposed; and a movable member for supporting the cartridge. The movable member is movable between an inside position in which the cartridge is located inside the main assembly and a pulled out position in which the movable member is outwardly pulled out from the main assembly. The openable member is prevented, from moving from the open position to the closed position, in a state in which the movable member is located outside the open position but is movable from the open position to the closed position in a state in which the movable member is located at the open position.

摘要: The object of the present invention is to provide a gene amplification method, wherein the method can amplify both methylated and unmethylated nucleic acids present in a biological sample, and further regulate the amplification ratio of the methylated and/or unmethylated nucleic acid as needed. Such objects can be solved by an amplification method using a nonspecific primer which can hybridize both with methylated and unmethylated nucleic acids and a specific primer which specifically hybridizes with either methylated or unmethylated nucleic acid, and further by an amplification method which can change the amplification ratio of methylated or unmethylated nucleic acid by changing the mixing rate of these primers.

摘要: The present invention provides a cell line which can be substituted for β cells in human mature pancreatic islets and express insulin in a glucose-concentration dependent manner, and enables the easy obtainment of the number of cells which meets the demand. The present invention also provides a therapeutical cell preparation for treating diabetes. The cell lines of the present invention can be obtained by integrating both a nucleotide sequence encoding tamoxifen-induced Cre recombinase and a nucleotide sequence encoding insulin regulated by glucose-sensitive promoter into the chromosome in a human immortalized hepatic cell line FERM BP-7498 containing the TERT gene inserted in between a pair of LoxP sequences.

摘要: An image forming apparatus includes: a fixing device having a nip portion in which a recording material having an unfixed image is nipped and conveyed and the unfixed image is fixed to the recording material; a pressure applying device for applying a pressure to the nip portion; a pressure release device for releasing the pressure in the nip portion; and a detection device for detecting a presence or absence of the recording material. When the pressure in the nip portion is released by the pressure release device, the detection device outputs a detection result representing the presence of the recording material. The pressure release device have a plurality of levers for releasing the pressure and the levers are arranged at both ends of the fixing device in a direction perpendicular to a moving direction of the recording material.
