    摘要: A method for manufacturing a catalyst-supporting carrier composed of a catalyst-supporting carbon and a polyelectrolyte, and including a carbon having pores to support a catalyst, introducing a functional group functioning as a polymerization initiator to the surface and/or in the pores of the catalyst-supporting carbon, introducing an electrolyte monomer and thereby grafting it onto the catalyst supporting carbon carrier for polymerizing by radical polymerization, and hydrolyzing at least part of the polymerized polyelectrolyte by a strong alkali. By using this catalyst-supporting carrier, electrode reaction is effectively facilitated, and the fuel-cell electrical efficiency can be improved. Further, an electrode having excellent properties and a polymer electrolyte fuel cell provided with such electrode and capable of obtaining high cell output are provided.

    摘要: A method for producing a catalyst-supporting support made up of catalyst-supporting carbon and an electrolyte polymer is provided which is characterized by including: a step of allowing carbon with pores to support a catalyst; a step of introducing a functional group, which is to be a polymerization initiator, into the surface and/or the pores of the catalyst-supporting carbon; and a step of introducing an electrolyte monomer or electrolyte monomer precursor into the surface and/or the pores of the catalyst-supporting carbon to polymerize the introduced electrolyte monomer or electrolyte monomer precursor using the polymerization initiator as a polymerization initiation site, whereby a three-phase boundary at which the reaction gas, catalyst and electrolyte meet can be sufficiently ensured in the carbon, and thus the catalyst can be more efficiently utilized. The use of the catalyst-supporting support enables electrode reactions to progress efficiently and the efficiency of power generation of a fuel cell to be increased. Further, the use of the catalyst-supporting support makes it possible to provide an electrode having excellent characteristics and a polymer electrolyte fuel cell including the electrode with which high output can be obtained.

In some examples, a temperature control apparatus includes a first receiving unit configured to contain a compound capable of photoisomerization, a second receiving unit configured to contain the compound capable of photoisomerization, a first filter configured to pass first light from a first light source, and a second filter configured to pass second light from a second light source. Further, the first and second receiving units are coupled to each other so that the compound capable of photoisomerization may be circulated between the first and second receiving units, and the compound capable of photoisomerization in the first receiving unit and the second receiving unit is photoisomerized by at least one of the first light and the second light.

    摘要: A composite coating device includes first to third processing chambers. The first processing chamber performs an ion beam etching as a pretreatment process in which an ion beam is irradiated on a surface of a magnetic head at a predetermined angle and the surface is removed for a predetermined depth. The second processing chamber performs a magnetron sputter deposition as a shock absorbing coating formation process in which a shock absorbing coating is formed on the pretreated surface. The third processing chamber performs an electron cyclotron resonance plasma chemical vapor epitaxy or a cathode arc discharge deposition as an overcoat formation process in which an overcoat is formed on the shock absorbing coating. A preparation chamber communicates with the first to third processing chambers through opening and closing devices for transferring the magnetic head.
