    摘要: A coating for application to the surface of an interior building product comprises: a resin formulation such as a melamine formaldehyde resin characterized by its ability to strengthen the interior building product when applied as a coating to the building product; and an aldehyde scavenger selected from the group consisting of; tetraethylene pentamine, propionamide, caprolactam, ammonium hydroxide, sodium bisulfate, sodium metabisulfite, ammonium primary phosphate, ammonium secondary phosphate, a combination of ammonium primary phosphate and ammonium secondary phosphate, a combination of ammonium primary phosphate, ammonium secondary phosphate and a sulfite, a polyvinyl alcohol; adipic dihydrazide and a combination of a polyvinyl alcohol and adipic dihydrazide.

    摘要: The invention generally provides gypsum-containing slurries including stucco, naphthalenesulfonate dispersant, and pregelatinized starch. The naphthalenesulfonate dispersant is present in an amount of about 0.1%-3.0% by weight based on the weight of dry stucco. The pregelatinized starch is present in an amount of at least about 0.5% by weight up to about 10% by weight of pregelatinized starch by weight based on the weight of dry stucco in the formulation. Other slurry additives can include trimetaphosphate salts, accelerators, binders, paper fiber, glass fiber, and other known ingredients. The invention also comprises the gypsum-containing products made with such slurries, for example, gypsum wallboard, and a method of making gypsum wallboard.

    摘要: A non-woven material and method of formation thereof is provided to form a substantially flat or planar self supporting core of an inorganic base fiber and an organic binding fiber preferably using an air-laid forming head. In certain preferred embodiments, the non-woven material has a basis weight of about 3,000 gsm or greater. Preferably, the organic binding fiber has a binding component and a structural component within unitary fiber filaments. In one aspect, the structural component of the organic binding fiber has a composition effective to provide a strength thereof so that the non-woven material can be manually cut with minimal effort. In such form, the non-woven material is suitable to function as an acoustic ceiling tile.

    摘要: The invention provides a light weight composite gypsum board including a foamed low density set gypsum core, a top non-foamed (or reduced-foamed) bonding high density layer and a bottom non-foamed (or reduced-foamed) bonding high density layer, a top cover sheet bonded to the foamed low density set gypsum core by the top non-foamed (or reduced-foamed) bonding high density layer, and a bottom cover sheet bonded to the foamed low density set gypsum core by the bottom non-foamed (or reduced-foamed) bonding high density layer. The foamed low density set gypsum core is prepared having a density of less than about 30 pcf using soap foam in the gypsum-containing slurry. The combination of components provide a composite gypsum board having light weight and high strength.
