Abstract:
A method and apparatus for interfacing a plurality of gas measurement systems, including a mainstream and a sidestream gas measurement system, to a host system via an interface unit. The present invention also pertains to a sidestream gas measurement system that output signals emulating the signals output by a mainstream gas measurement system or portion thereof, so that the sidestream gas measurement system can seamlessly communicate with a host system configured to communicate with a mainstream gas measurement system or a portion thereof.

Abstract:
Provided according to embodiments of the invention are photoplethysmography (PPG) sensors, systems and accessories, and methods of making and using the same. In some embodiments of the invention, the PPG sensors include a clip body that includes a first end portion and a second end portion; a flex circuit attached or adjacent to the clip body, and an elastomeric sleeve that envelops (1) at least part of the first end portion and at least part of the flex circuit attached or adjacent thereto; or (2) at least part of the second end portion and at least part of the flex circuit attached or adjacent thereto.
Abstract:
A pump system can include a pump device and a controller device removably attachable to the pump device. The controller device can be reusable, and one or more pump devices can be disconnected and reconnected to the controller device. As such, some pump usage data can be conveniently stored in the pump device itself. In such circumstances, the controller device can receive data related to the pump's history or other usage when the pump device is attached to the controller.
Abstract:
A scan tool is provided which comprises a housing which houses a display and six mode buttons. The scan tool is communicable with an OBD of an automobile and provides information retrieved therefrom to a user of the scan tool in an efficient and effective manner. In particular, the display displays a plurality of information on one screen. For example, the display may display information related to I/M Monitor Status simultaneously with MIL status, stored, pending or historical codes. Further, the scan tool allows the user to switch between modes by depressing the mode button of the desired mode without having to manually exit the current mode and manually enter the desired mode.
Abstract:
A technique for manufacturing a piezoresistive sensing structure includes a number of process steps. Initially, a piezoresistive element is implanted into a first side of an assembly that includes a semiconductor material. A passivation layer is then formed on the first side of the assembly over the element. The passivation layer is then removed from selected areas on the first side of the assembly. A first mask is then provided on the passivation layer in a desired pattern. A beam, which includes the element, is then formed in the assembly over at least a portion of the assembly that is to provide a cavity. The passivation layer provides a second mask, in the formation of the beam, that determines a width of the formed beam.
Abstract:
Impending rollover events are detected based on differential z-axis (i.e., vertical) acceleration. Vertical or z-axis acceleration measured at laterally opposite sides of the vehicle are filtered and differenced, and the differential acceleration is processed and compared to a calibrated threshold to detect impending rollover. Separate algorithms are employed to detect different categories of rollover events, and a sum of the z-axis acceleration measurements is used as a safing signal.
Abstract:
A sensor appliance removably attachable to a living body for non-invasively producing signals indicative of a condition of the body and applying them to a monitoring or measuring device and method of making the appliance characterized by a small, highly flexible light weight substrate with surface mounted light emitting and photodetector components hermetically sealed in a flexible moisture resistant envelope. Provision is made for inclusion of a form sustaining spine to enhance positional stability.
Abstract:
A high efficiency ventilation system may include a partition configured to separate a supply air stream and a return air stream, an energy recovery ventilator, a heat recovery ventilator, a refrigerant flow controlling condensing unit, and a direct expansion coil. The refrigerant flow controlling condensing unit may be configured to send a refrigerant to the direct expansion coil and configured to receive a refrigerant from the direct expansion coil. The direct expansion coil may be disposed between the energy recovery ventilator and the heat recovery ventilator. The high efficiency ventilation system may be configured to supply ventilation air to a controlled environment at a particular temperature and a particular humidity.
