    摘要: To substantially improve the operation of a high-speed, lowpower digital logic network of the type including a bistable tunnel diode circuit, a source of clock signal pulses and a multiple input logic gate circuit for generating logic signal pulses in response to applied binary inputs and said clock signal pulses, said logic and clock signal pulses being coupled to said tunnel diode circuit for driving it into a first stable state when concurrently applied and into a second stable state with said clock signal pulses solely applied, the improvement comprising the employment of pulse-shaping circuit at the output of the clock signal source for shaping the clock signal pulses applied to said logic gate circuit so as to relax component tolerances and reduce spurious operation.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a signal acquisition network comprising an automatic phase/frequency control network suitable for automatic fine tuning with a wide frequency scanning feature, operative during signal acquisition. Wide frequency scanning is provided by a self quenching oscillator, which provides a low frequency ''''dithering'''' voltage to the AP/FC network to facilitate signal acquisition. The arrangement permits one to combine a large capture bandwidth with accurate narrow band tuning after ''''lock in''''. The invention is suitable for FM and TV application, and may be fabricated using integrated circuit techniques.

    摘要: Apparatus is disclosed for logging an input signal over an extended dynamic range. The apparatus has particular application to high frequency, high bandwidth signals. An extended logarithmic range is achieved by using consecutive logarithmic stages, wherein each stage exhibits a linear portion and a logarithmic portion in its transfer characteristic. Each stage is so arranged that successive portions of the dynamic range of the input signal is successively logged. Thus an output signal is generated wherein an extended dynamic range of the input signal is continuously logged. The logging component comprises a semiconductor diode preferably in a symmetrical diode pair configuration.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a power supply for a gas discharge lamp such as a xenon arc lamp normally operating in the thermionic emission mode. The power supply is energized from an a.c. line and includes a d.c. source of low voltage and high current for sustained operation and a starter. During starting, the starter provides a succession of high voltage trigger pulses for initiating the gas discharge and a succession of unidirectional, medium voltage power pulses synchronized with the trigger pulses for heating the lamp to thermionic emission temperature. The medium voltage pulses are portions of half cycles derived from the a.c. line and applied to the lamp without filtering or energy storage. The circuit uses low cost components and provides a gradual warm-up of the lamp with a minimum of thermal shock.

    摘要: A signal processor for the reception of amplitude or frequency modulated signals and the principal signal processing component of an AM-FM radio receiver is described. The processor principally comprises a multiplier-mixer, a wideband amplifier, and a multiplier detector which are operable in both AM and FM modes. The processor is switched from one mode to another by a manual control which converts the IF amplifier from AGC controlled linear amplification for AM to high gain limiting amplification for FM and selectively activates AM and FM signal inputs to the detector and appropriate AM and FM high frequency oscillators for the mixer. The processor is particularly adapted for integrated circuit fabrication techniques.
