In particular, the system and method are operative to receive an image from a proximate vehicle and to augment a display within the host vehicle by providing a view of objects with an area of obstructed view.

摘要: A computer-implemented method at a service facility for capturing vehicle state and service information (VSSI) is provided. The method includes: detecting the arrival of a vehicle at the service facility; initiating, by a processor at the service facility, the establishment of a secure communication link with the vehicle via an in-vehicle wi-fi hotspot; wirelessly retrieving, by the processor at the service facility from the vehicle, a subset of VSSI via the wi-fi hotspot, wherein the retrieved VSSI includes the subset of the VSSI that has changed since the last update of the VSSI to a cloud-based server and wherein the subset of the VSSI includes some, but not all of the VSSI; and scheduling a vehicle service based on service indications derived from the VSSI.

摘要: A portable communication device, for implementation with a host vehicle of transportation having an on-board diagnostics port and a limited-access head-unit display. The device includes an on-board diagnostics connector sized and shaped to connect to the on-board diagnostics port of the host vehicle, a hardware-based processing unit in communication with the on-board diagnostics; and a non-transitory storage device in communication with the processing unit, the storage device. The storage includes a media-options presentation module that, when executed by the processing unit: sends, by way of the on-board diagnostics connector and port, media-options data to the host vehicle for presenting user media options by way of the limited-access head-unit display; and receives user-selection data responding to the user media options. The storage also includes a media streaming module that, when executed obtains streaming media based on the user-selection data, and sends the streaming media to the host vehicle for presentation.

摘要: A method of authorizing access and operation for vehicle sharing via a portable device. A request reservation is generated to reserve a vehicle via a portable device carried by a user. The reservation includes a portable device identifier and reservation details. Authentication keys are transmitted to the portable device and a plug-in device coupled to the vehicle in response to a successful authorization. The plug-in device is used to perform vehicle access and vehicle operations of the vehicle. The authentication keys enable the portable device and the plug-in device to be paired for enabling vehicle access and operations. An authorization is executed between the portable device carried by a user and a plug-in device coupled to the vehicle. Access to the vehicle operations are enabled in response to a successful authorization.

摘要: A system and method of providing one or more vehicle functions at a vehicle, the method including: when the vehicle is in a powered off state, periodically scanning for short-range wireless communication (SRWC) devices using a SRWC chipset and, as a result of the scanning, receiving a connection request from a mobile device; in response thereto, establishing a SRWC connection with the mobile device using the SRWC chipset; after establishing the SRWC connection, authorizing the mobile device to access one or more vehicle functions; then, performing an initialization suite of operations, wherein the initialization suite of operations includes initializing at least one vehicle system module, and wherein the initialization suite of operations is performed in response to a predictive user determination indicative of an imminent user interaction with the vehicle; and executing the initialization suite of operations at the vehicle.

摘要: A processor-implemented method by a message recipient in a vehicle or on a mobile device for decoding overlapping wireless messages is provided. The method comprises: receiving a first message from a first message sender that overlaps with a second message received from a second message sender; estimating, in a first signal recovery phase, a received data symbol (d0) from the first message and a channel impulse response (h1) corresponding to a data channel between the message recipient and the second message sender; estimating, in a second signal recovery phase, a received data symbol (d0)′ from the first message and a received data symbol (d1) from the second message; and reconstructing the first message from the estimated data symbol (d0) estimated in the first signal recovery phase and estimated data symbol (d0)′ estimated during the second signal recovery phase and reconstructing the second message from the estimated data symbol (d1) estimated during the second signal recovery phase.
