摘要: A system (10) is provided for enabling biometric identification. The system (10) comprises at least two electrodes (12), a database (14) and a processor (13). The at least two electrodes (12) are to be applied to a face of a subject for capturing electrophysiological signals (51, 52, 53, 54) therefrom. The subject is one of the registered users. The database (14) comprises characteristic eye blink data of registered users. The processor (13) is operably coupled to the electrodes (12) and the database (14) and is operative to receive the electrophysiological signals (51, 52, 53, 54) from the at least two electrodes (12) during at least one eye blink of the subject, to derive eye blink characteristics from the obtained electrophysiological signals (51, 52, 53 54), to make a comparison of the derived eye blink characteristics with at least part of the characteristic eye blink data in the database (14) and to determine an identity of the subject, based on the comparison.

摘要: The present invention relates to a transmitting apparatus, a receiving apparatus, a system, a signal, and a method of multi-user transmission, wherein transmission settings are divided into common signal information, containing settings/information relevant for multiple receivers and user stream specific information, containing settings/information relevant only to a related user stream. Furthermore, the common signal information may comprise at least one of a duration of the longest user stream field and multi-user resource allocation field, so that the receivers know the mapping of user streams to receivers.

摘要: The invention is based on the idea that a lighting system can utilize its sensing and control functionalities to offer dynamic load management (e.g. demand response) services in an electrical grid. The present invention optimizes dimming levels of lighting sources of a lighting system by determining a solution for an optimization problem directed to determining new dimming levels such that power consumption of the lighting devices is reduced. During the determining the solution for the optimization problem, the present invention may take into account specific guarantees on illumination rendering, acceptable to different users, and differing illumination requirements in different spaces or rooms. By the lighting control of the present invention, predictable and effective load reductions may be achieved.

摘要: In a receiver for processing OFDM encoded signals, wherein the OFDM encoded digital signals are transmitted by means of a symbol in each of subcarrier frequency channels, with at least some of said subcarriers containing user data symbols, an initial estimate of a channel frequency response is formed from magnitudes of user data symbols received in those subcarriers. Then, a correlation function of a channel impulse response is estimated by performing an inverse Fourier transform on the initial estimate of the channel frequency response, and the length of the channel impulse response is estimated by examining peaks in the estimated correlation function of the channel impulse response.
