Abstract:
The invention relates to a material including a support consisting of a porous composite material including at least one polymer phase forming a binder based on at least one polymer selected from thermoplastic polymers, elastomers, and elastomer thermoplastics, and at least one filler selected from thermally conductive fillers, the pores of the support consisting of the porous composite material being partially or entirely filled with at least one phase-change material. The invention also relates to a method for producing said material.
Abstract:
The invention concerns an elastomer composition for a self-supporting insert (1) intended to support a tyre of a wheel of a vehicle, an insert of which at least one layer (3) comprises said composition and a mounted assembly incorporating said insert. The invention applies to a non-pneumatic mounted assembly, in particular for a vehicle with two wheels, in which each of the tyres is permanently supported by said insert, The elastomer composition comprises, principally by mass, a mixture of at least one first thermoplastic elastomer and at least one second thermoplastic elastomer, and said composition is such that said at least one first thermoplastic elastomer is a copolyamide (COPA) and said at least one second thermoplastic elastomer is a thermoplastic styrene (TPS) elastomer.
Abstract:
A process for preparing a reinforced and reactive thermoplastic composition having a continuous phase based on a thermoplastic polymer and dispersed therein is a discontinuous phase based on a reactive reinforcing agent that may be immiscible with the thermoplastic polymer is provided. A composition obtained by this process is also provided. The reinforcing agent is selected from the group consisting of epoxy resins, polyorganosiloxanes having SiH functional group(s), diisocyanates or polyisocyanates and mixtures thereof, comprises a grafting, a branching and/or a crosslinking, that are carried out in situ, by reactive compounding of these phases with a shear rate greater than 102 s−1, of the reinforcing agent onto the chain of the thermoplastic polymer, so that the discontinuous phase is dispersed homogeneously in the continuous phase in the form of nodules having a number-average size of less than 5 μm.
Abstract:
An element of an engine compartment of a motor vehicle and a method of protecting this element against chemical attacks by a metal halide is described. The element has at least one external layer of a wall having a thermoplastic composition based on polyamide. The thermoplastic composition is based on at least one polyamide that has at least one polymer chain with two ends comprising functional end groups. The at least one polyamide is selected from the group consisting of PA 6, PA 6.6 and mixtures thereof and the composition comprises the product of the reaction, preferably by reactive extrusion, of at least one bifunctional or multifunctional chain extender compound with at least one part of the functional groups. The element is capable of resisting prolonged contact with a metal halide of an alkaline, alkaline-earth or transition metal without breaking.
Abstract:
A process for preparing a polymeric composition for forming a lithium-ion or sodium-ion battery electrode or a supercapacitor electrode or for exhibiting magnetic properties, to such a polymeric composition obtained by means of this process, to a mixture which is a precursor of the composition, obtained by means of a first mixing step of the process, and to this electrode. The process for preparing this composition comprises: a) hot-mixing, via the melt process and without solvent, at least one active material, a binder-forming polymeric phase and a sacrificial polymeric phase so as to obtain a mixture, and b) at least partially eliminating said sacrificial polymeric phase so as to obtain said composition which comprises the active material(s) according to a weight fraction greater than 80%. The sacrificial phase is used in step a) according to a weight fraction in the mixture being greater than or equal to 15%.
