    摘要: It is an object of this invention to provide an active matrix type liquid crystal display which uses a ferroelectric liquid crystal or antiferroelectric liquid crystal, which has a high response speed, a wide angle of field, and a high contrast, and which does not cause a "step response" phenomenon. An active matrix type liquid crystal display according to this invention includes pixel electrodes arranged in a matrix form, first switching devices arranged in a one-to-one correspondence with the pixel electrodes, signal lines for transmitting an image signal to the pixel electrodes via the first switching devices, scanning lines arranged to cross the signal lines to transmit a scanning signal for turning on the first switching devices, storage capacitance lines arranged parallel to the scanning lines to form storage capacitances between the storage capacitance lines and the pixel electrodes, and second switching devices arranged in a one-to-one correspondence with the pixel electrodes to connect pixel electrodes assigned to one scanning line to a storage capacitance line, while another scanning line is being selected, thereby resetting the pixel electrodes.

    摘要: An image display system produces a color image by arranging a color shutter capable of time-divisionally switching a plurality of colors to be displayed, in front of a monochrome image display. This image display system comprises: a self-luminous image display part for time-divisionally displaying monochrome images corresponding to three primary colors; and a color display part for time-divisionally coloring and outputting the monochrome images which formed on the side of the light outgoing surface of the self-luminous image display part and which correspond to the three primary colors. The color display part further comprises: a liquid crystal cell driven by carrying out an optical switching on the basis of the inversion between positive and negative polarities; a transparent electrode formed by dividing the liquid crystal cell into a plurality of parts; and a liquid crystal color shutter capable of optionally setting display colors for a plurality of display regions by means of the transparent electrode, the liquid crystal color shutter displaying different display colors for at least two display regions in an optional time in a driving condition.

    摘要: An image display system produces a color image by arranging a color shutter capable of time-divisionally switching a plurality of colors to be displayed, in front of a monochrome image display. This image display system comprises: a self-luminous image display part for time-divisionally displaying monochrome images corresponding to three primary colors; and a color display part for time-divisionally coloring and outputting the monochrome images which formed on the side of the light outgoing surface of the self-luminous image display part and which correspond to the three primary colors.     摘要: A display device is composed of a liquid crystal display panel, having modulating characteristics in which a relationship between a transmittance and a drive voltage depends on the direction of a change in the drive voltage, for modulating source light in a two-dimensional area, and a processing channel for applying a drive voltage according to each of pixel signals which change for each 1-field period. Particularly, the processing channel includes a field memory for delaying transmittance data corresponding to the pixel signal by the 1-field period, and a characteristic compensating circuit for converting the transmittance data to a drive voltage data on the basis of conversion characteristics which vary with the data delayed by the field memory, and determining the drive voltage according to the drive voltage data.

    摘要: The lowest voltage value among the open circuit voltages at cells constituting a battery pack is set as a capacity adjustment target value. Each cell is discharged over the length of time corresponding to the deviation of its open circuit voltage from the capacity adjustment target value. The voltage at a cell manifesting a voltage reduction that is larger than those at a majority of remaining cells but is still within the normal range is set closer to the level of the voltages at the majority of remaining cells over time. If, on the other hand, an open circuit voltage is lowered to an extent exceeding a first threshold value, from the range set by the cell error decision-making reference value ascertained by averaging the cell voltages excluding the highest voltage value and the lowest voltage value, then the decision is made that an abnormal voltage reduction has occurred.
