摘要: Auxotrophic Agrobacterium and methods employing auxotrophic Agrobacterium are provided. Auxotrophic Agrobacterium may be used in a variety of methods including biologically containing Agrobacterium comprising a transgene and transforming a plant cell without using an Agrobacterium counter-selective agent. Transforming maize immature embryos using an Agrobacterium auxotrophic for thymidine results in comparable transformation efficiency as transformation achieved using prototrophic Agrobacterium. Methods for producing an Agrobacterium thymidine auxotroph and using the auxotroph in transformation methods are disclosed. Transformed tissues and plants produced using methods of the present invention are also provided.

摘要: The invention provides transgenic maize event MON 87427 and plants, plant cells, seeds, plant parts, and commodity products derived from event MON 87427. The invention also provides nucleotides specific for transgenic maize event MON 87427 and plants, plant cells, seeds, plant parts, and commodity products comprising nucleotides specific for transgenic maize event MON 87427. The invention also provides methods related to transgenic maize event MON 87427 and to the Roundup® Hybridization System (RHS). The invention also provides a Relative Development Scale useful for monitoring and determining reproductive development in maize that reconciles developmental differences across various maize varieties. This is useful for determining the optimal timing of a treatment regimen in which tassel development stage is an important factor, including various methods in making hybrid seed.

摘要: The present invention provides compositions and methods for regulating the expression of nucleotide sequence of interest in a plant. Compositions include a novel nucleotide sequence comprising an inducible promoter for the 5C9 gene, which encodes a maize patatin-like polypeptide. A method for expressing a nucleotide sequence of interest in a plant using the promoter sequences disclosed herein is provided. The method comprises stably incorporating into the genome of a plant cell a nucleotide sequence operably linked to the inducible promoter of the present invention and regenerating a stably transformed plant that expresses the nucleotide sequence in an inducible manner.

摘要: The field of the invention is inducible gene expression systems wherein expression is controlled by a novel ecdysone or ultraspiracle receptor or its derivatives. The field particularly relates to the isolation and characterization of nucleic acid and polypeptides for a novel ecdysone receptor and a novel ultraspiracle receptor. The nucleic acid and polypeptides are useful in novel gene expression systems inducible with ecdysone or derivative receptor agonists.
