This invention relates to a sheet-type cosmetic pack, wherein a cosmetic composition layer comprising a cation-based water-soluble copolymer expressed by the following formula 1 and a partially cross-linked water-soluble polymer is introduced between the protective film layer and the substrate layer supporting the cosmetic composition: ##STR1## wherein, x is 0.6.about.0.8, y is 0.2.about.0.4, and x+y=1. The sheet-type cosmetic pack of this invention has the following advantages in that a) the keratotic plugs can be effectively removed from the skin, b) maintenance of clean skin pores imparts flexibility to the skin of a nose, c) a shortened drying time prevents a residue of cosmetic substances in the skin after a peel-off, and d) pain is mitigated due to easy peel-off.

The diaphragm contains a blend of (a) 100 parts by weight of a polyolefin random copolymer of about 80 to about 95 mole percent ethylene and a total of about 5 to about 20 mole percent of 1-butene, and (b) at least 10 parts by weight of a rubber comprising a styrene-ethylene/butylene-styrene block copolymer based on 100 parts by weight of polyolefin. The styrene-ethylene/butylene-styrene block copolymer is substantially uniformly dispersed within the polyolefin. The blend preferably has a Shore A hardness of 65 to 85.

The azlactone-functional substrates are the reaction product of substrates having azlactone-reactive nucleophilic surfaces and a multi-functional azlactone composition having at least two azlactone moieties, where at least one moiety covalently couples to the azlactone-reactive nucleophilic surface and at least one moiety remains available for further nucleophilic reaction, such as with a biologically active material. A preferred use of azlactone-functional hydrogel is as the optical element of a corneal prosthesis which enhances epithethial cell growth.

The present invention relates to a method for searching myelin using gonadotropin-releasing hormone receptors (GnRH-R) as a biomarker, more precisely, a method for investigating the distribution of myelin by immunohistochemical staining using GnRH-R antibody, based on the fact that GnRH-R and myelin are observed in the same region. The method for searching myelin of the invention can contribute to the studies on demyelination related degenerative brain disease and the disclosure of functions of myelin and the relation of myelin and GnRH-R.

The present invention relates to a thermal transfer ink layer composition, wherein polyvinylacetal resin and cellulose derivatives are used in a mixture for the binder in the thermal transfer ink layer composition of the sublimation thermal transfer ink ribbon, or the another type of a binder is mixed into the mixture of polyvinylacetal resin and cellulose derivatives and so used therein. As a result, the adhesion between the thermal transfer ink layer and substrate film, and the gradation property of printed images are improved as compared to the case in which the respective binders are used individually. More particularly, the present invention relates to the thermal transfer ink layer composition of the sublimation thermal transfer ink ribbon, which can yield high quality images by means of the aforementioned improvements.

Azlactone functionality is introduced to surfaces of a pre-existing support in a manner which retains useful physical and chemical characteristics of the pre-existing support. One method involves exposing surfaces with high energy radiation to generate free radical reaction sites on the surfaces and causing azlactone-functional moieties to react with the free radical reaction sites. Another method involves coating surfaces with azlactone monomers, crosslinking monomers, and optionally co-monomers and polymerizing the monomers to form a polymerized coating of azlactone-functionality on the surfaces. Another method involves dispersion polymerization of azlactone-functional moieties to produce azlactone-functional particles within pores and interstices of a pre-existing support. Adduct supports are formed by coupling nucleophilic reagents, such as biologically active materials, to azlactone-functional moieties of the support.
