    摘要: Embodiments of the present invention are directed to devices and methods for propelling fluids that feature at least one first pump assembly having a primary pump, an accumulator pump, drive means, valve means and control means. The valve means moves between the first position and the second position as the accumulator pump and primary pump alternate between a loading movement and a pump movement. The control means is in signal communication with the accumulator pump, the primary pump and the valve means. The control means issues signal command to the accumulator pump to assume the loading movement and the pump movement and the primary pump to assume the loading movement and pump movement in coordination with the movement of the valve means such that fluids are propelled from the first outlet.

Compression means for compressing the gasket, deforming the material such that the gasket is pressed into retaining groove and gripped by the edge of the cavity to prevent gasket movement.

    摘要: In general, the invention features a spring assembly for a gauge with a hollow metal tube that changes in volume in response to differential pressures applied across the walls. The tube has a neck connected to a fitting of the gauge, a body connected at one end to the neck with its other end sealed, and at least a portion of the walls of the body being flattened and cold worked to a reduced thickness to thereby increase their yield point to a spring temper. The body is coiled into a spiral or helix. The coiled tube is heat treated to increase its elasticity. The interior of the neck is in pressure communication with the fitting, and the interior of the body is in pressure communication through its unsealed end with the interior of the neck, whereby a change in the pressure applied to the fitting is communicated along the interior of the body changing the differential pressure across the walls of the body to cause a corresponding change in the volume.

    摘要: A rotary shear valve assembly for liquid chromatography applications comprises a rotor assembly having a rotor and a drive shaft with a head portion. The rotor has a substantially planar surface with one or more rotor grooves and a pair of holes. The head portion has two pins. The pins are disposed substantially diametrically opposite of each other on a line through a center of the head portion. Each pin mates with one of the holes in the rotor. The rotor assembly can further comprise means for urging the rotor surface against the stator surface such that each rotor groove aligns with and provides a fluidic channel between two of the stator openings.

    摘要: A shear valve for use in a high performance liquid chromatography system. The shear valve includes a first valve member having a plurality of first fluid-conveying features, and a second valve member having one or more second fluid-conveying features. The second valve member is movable, relative to the first valve member, between a plurality of discrete positions such that, in each of the discrete positions, at least one of the one or more second fluid-conveying features overlaps with multiple ones of the first fluid conveying features to provide for fluid communication therebetween. At least one of the first and second valve members is at least partially coated with a protective coating that includes an adhesion interlayer and a diamond-like carbon (DLC) layer. The DLC layer is deposited on the adhesion interlayer via filtered cathodic vacuum arc (FCVA) deposition.

The second valve element is movable, relative to the first valve element, between a plurality of discrete positions such that, in each of the discrete positions, at least one of the one or more second fluid-conveying features overlaps with multiple ones of the first fluid conveying features to provide for fluid communication therebetween. At least one of the first valve element and the second valve element includes a recess. The recess serves to reduce wear between the first valve element and the second valve element. The recess is arranged such that it does not overlap with any of the first fluid-conveying features or any of the second fluid-conveying features when the rotor is in any of the discrete positions.
