    摘要: An internal combustion engine having an exhaust system provided with exhaust gas purifying means and secondary air supplying means disposed upstream thereof includes a secondary air injection compensating system comprising vacuum introducing means adapted to introduce and reserve the vacuum from an intake manifold vacuum port; secondary air switching means including two diaphragm means and a valve mechanism linked therewith; information processing means adapted to process the information from and O.sub.2 sensor and an acceleration detector to make a selection therefrom and issue a command; and vacuum switching means including two vacuum switching valves for selective conduction of said vacuum to said secondary air switching means by said command, and a compensating switching valve. The information processing means operate to communicate either of said two vacuum switching valves with the vacuum and the other with the atmosphere simultaneously and, under the secondary air injecting condition, cause said compensating switching valve to induce atmospheric air into the atmosphere communication system.

    摘要: A fuel injection valve, for an engine, comprising a nozzle body having a plurality of nozzle holes and a needle valve reciprocated in the nozzle body for controlling the inflow of the fuel into the nozzle holes is disclosed. The fuel is rendered to flow into the nozzle holes from a direction along the inner wall surface of the nozzle body around each of the nozzle holes in a first inflow mode, and from a direction substantially perpendicular to the inner wall surface of the nozzle body in a second inflow mode. The first inflow mode and the second inflow mode can be selectively switched to each other. The fuel is rendered to flow into the nozzle holes in the first inflow mode before the lapse of a predetermined time after the engine is started, and in the first or second mode as required after the lapse of the predetermined time.

    摘要: A fuel injection valve with improved fuel atomization which has a valve body, a needle valve accommodated in the valve body for opening and closing a fuel path at a sealing portion, and a metering member provided at a front end of the valve body and having a plurality of nozzle holes for metering a fuel and determining the fuel-injecting direction. The fuel injection valve comprises an inner wall of the valve body located downstream of the sealing portion which is shaped to be gradually contiguous to an upstream side surface of the metering member, and an intermediate surface of the needle valve for connecting the sealing portion and the most-downstream side bottom surface of the needle valve with each other forming the fuel path sloped inward in the downstream direction in association with the inner wall for introducing the fuel into the nozzle holes formed in the metering member when the needle valve is in an open state, wherein the intermediate surface of the needle valve being shaped in such a manner that a virtual intersecting line of a virtual linear extension of the intermediate surface and the upstream side surface of the metering member is positioned outside of a virtual circle circumscribing the upstream side openings of the nozzle holes formed in the metering member when the needle valve is in an open state.

    摘要: A fuel injection valve 15 is disposed in an intake passage 9 of an engine body 1. A combustion chamber 5 communicates with the intake passage 9 for introducing fuel injected from the fuel injection valve 15 at predetermined intake timings. A plurality of sensors are provided in the engine body 1 or fuel intake system for detecting various engine operational conditions including properties of fuel. A control unit 30 calculates a fuel quantity-of-state in the combustion chamber 5 in accordance with the engine operational conditions detected by the sensors, using an atomized fuel behavioral model representing behavior of fuel injected from the fuel injection valve 15, an intake passage fuel behavioral model representing fuel behavior in the intake passage 9 and a combustion chamber fuel behavioral model representing fuel behavior in the combustion chamber 5. Furthermore, the control unit 30 calculates a fuel injection amount required to adjust an actual gaseous air-fuel ratio in the combustion chamber 5 to a desired value in accordance with the fuel quantity-of-state thus calculated. The control unit 30 uses a cranking model as the combustion chamber fuel behavioral model before an initial explosion is detected and uses a firing model after the initial explosion is detected. The fuel injection valve 15 is opened or closed on the basis of the fuel injection amount thus calculated.

    摘要: A fuel injection valve for an internal combustion engine includes an injector body and an adapter. The injector body includes a single fuel injection hole and the adapter includes a concave portion defining a dead volume portion and a pillar extending from a bottom surface of the concave portion toward the fuel injection hole formed in the injector body. Fuel injected through the fuel injection hole into the dead volume portion collides with a top surface of the pillar to form a cone-like fuel flow pattern and a large portion of the fuel can directly flow into injected fuel paths formed in the adapted without attaching to and collecting on surfaces of various portions of the adapter. Thus, stable fuel injection from the injected fuel paths can be obtained.
