摘要: A bone screw assembly includes a tulip-shaped seat, a bone fixation device, a ring-shaped washer, a rod and a cap. The tulip-shaped seat comprises a through opening dimensioned to receive the bone fixation device and a horizontal channel dimensioned to receive the rod. The washer is placed into the seat on top of the bone fixation device head and comprises first and second side tabs and a first pair of upward extending projections separated by a first gap and a second pair of upward extending projections separated by a second gap. The side tabs interface with a groove formed in the bottom portion of the seat. The rod is placed within the channel and positioned within a groove formed on the top surface of the washer. The cap includes first and second projections extending downward from its bottom surface and each of the first and second downward projections comprises first and second sidewise extending ridges. The first ridges of the first and second projections are aligned and placed within the first and second gaps of the washer, respectively, and interface with a first groove formed on the side portion of the seat and the second ridges interface with a second groove on the side portion of the seat when the cap is rotate.

摘要: A spinal fixation element includes a screw and a washer. The screw comprises an elongated body of a first diameter and the body includes a threaded portion at a distal end and a semispherical head of a second diameter at a proximal end. The second diameter is larger than the first diameter. The washer comprises a semispherical through opening of a third diameter at the top, of a fourth diameter in the middle and of a fifth diameter at the bottom. The third diameter is slightly smaller than the second diameter, the fourth diameter is slightly larger than the second diameter and the fifth diameter is smaller than the second diameter. The washer surrounds the semispherical head, is non-removably attached to the semispherical head and is rotatable and positionable at an angle relative to the elongated body.

摘要: Methods for preventing IBS, reducing the likelihood of developing IBS and/or treating IBS by administering COT inhibitors and/or COT neutralizers to a subject in need thereof are described. Methods of eliciting a specific immune response and methods of vaccinating a subject to prevent IBS or to reduce the likelihood of developing or having IBS are also provided. Methods of diagnosing IBS by detecting the presence or absence of COT or a COT marker in a subject are described.

摘要: A prescriptive architecture for application development is provided. In some embodiments, the architecture comprises a service, a receiver, a sender, and a transport. The service functions to perform the actual business logic, is decorated with service deployment metadata; and is operable to communicate via types. The receiver is coupled to the service and is generated entirely from the service deployment metadata. The receiver is operable to receive messages, convert the received messages into types, and communicate with the service using the types. The sender is coupled to the receiver and is generated entirely from the service deployment metadata. The sender functions as a proxy for the service to a service consumer, and is operable to communicate using types with the service consumer. The sender is operable to convert the types to messages, and communicate with the receiver via messages. The transport functions as a message exchange technology that allows the sender and receiver to communicate, and is designated by the service deployment metadata and implemented as an underlying technology of the sender and the receiver.

摘要: A corrosion resistant component of a plasma chamber includes a liquid crystalline polymer. In a preferred embodiment, the liquid crystalline polymer (LCP) is provided on an aluminum component having an anodized or non-anodized surface. The liquid crystalline polymer can also be provided on an alumina component. The liquid crystalline polymer can be deposited by a method such as plasma spraying. The liquid crystalline polymer may also be provided as a preformed sheet or other shape adapted to cover the exposed surfaces of the reaction chamber. Additionally, the reactor components may be made entirely from liquid crystalline polymer by machining the component from a solid block of liquid crystalline polymer or molding the component from the polymer. The liquid crystalline polymer may contain reinforcing fillers such as glass or mineral fillers.

摘要: A mouth insert for treating nosebleeds includes a main body and a bite tab. The bite tab removably engages the main body and is configured to move up and/or down vertically in order to adjust the height of the device. The main body includes a horizontally extending elongated portion, a center portion extending downward from a bottom surface of the elongated portion, and the center portion has a narrower width than the horizontally extending elongated portion. The elongated portion of the main body is shaped and dimensioned to be inserted into a buccal cavity of a user's mouth and to fit behind the user's upper lip and in front of the user's upper gums, and the center portion is shaped and dimensioned to be positioned only in front of the user's upper front teeth. The bite tab includes a horizontally extending portion and a vertically extending portion and the vertically extending portion is configured to removably engage the center portion of the main body and the horizontally extending portion includes a push-surface used for pushing the device upward in order to provide pressure to the user's nose.
