摘要： Dry mix formulations containing a redispersible polymer powder (RDP) made of a low carboxylation, large particle size water-insoluble film-forming styrene butadiene polymer having at least one ethylenically unsaturated dicarboxylic acid monomer, and a high alumina content cement such as a calcium aluminate cement (CAC) or a calcium sulfoaluminate cement (CSA) provides cement compositions having unexpectedly superior water immersion shear strength and set time for a cement containing tile adhesive (CBTA or CTA), superior adhesion properties in water proofing mortars or mortar applications, and superior flexural and compressive strength in grout applications.

摘要： A water redispersible polymer powder is produced by drying an aqueous mixture of a carboxylated styrene butadiene polymer and a colloidal stabilizer which includes a polyvinyl alcohol modified with an alkyl end chain. The alkyl modified polyvinyl alcohol provides excellent redispersibility of the redispersible polymer powder without adversely affecting spray drying. Cement compositions such as mortars, which contain the redispersible polymer powder with the alkyl modified polyvinyl alcohol exhibit unexpectedly superior stability and an unexpectedly lower rate of mortar viscosity buildup which is advantageous for workability or troweling.

摘要： A water redispersible polymer powder is produced by drying an aqueous mixture of a high Tg carboxylated styrene butadiene polymer and a low Tg carboxylated styrene butadiene polymer, where the ratio of the mean or average particle size of the high Tg polymer to the particle size of the low Tg polymer is from 1:1 to 5:1, preferably from 1:1 to 3:1, and the amount of the high Tg polymer is from 20 wt. % to 35 wt. %, preferably from 25 wt. % to 30 wt. %, based upon the total weight of the high Tg polymer and the low Tg polymer. Cement compositions such as mortars, which contain the redispersible polymer powder exhibit unexpectedly superior high bond strength and high impact resistance.

In addition the invention concerns compositions comprising an inorganic hydraulic binding agent and said polymer composition; and uses of said polymer composition, especially in tile adhesives.

摘要： The present disclosure provides embodiments of polymeric particles, aqueous coating compositions, coating compositions, processes of making polymeric particles hydrophobic coatings, processes for making hydrophobic synthetic latex compositions, processes of forming polymeric particle agglomerates for use in a hydrophobic coating, and process of making hydrophobic polymeric binders. In some embodiments, the polymeric particle includes a polymer having an elastic modulus greater than about 108 Pascal (Pa), measured at 25 degrees Celsius (° C.) and at a deformation frequency of 1 radian per second, where the polymeric particle is hydrophobic, and where the hydrophobicity is achieved by polymerizing a monomer in a mixture comprising water and a fatty acid, or salt thereof, where the monomer contains less than about 3 parts acid monomer per 100 parts dry monomer.
