摘要： The present invention relates, generally, to a high temperature stable mixed polyol ester lubricant composition partly containing an aromatic carboxylic acid ester and a process of making the same. Typically, the aromatic acid ester is benzoic acid, and the lubricant composition preferably comprises a mixture of linear C5, i-C9, and linear C7-10 aliphatic carboxylic acid. The esters are preferably formed from an aliphatic polyol. These mixed polyol esters are useful in aero-derived gas turbine engines.

摘要： A process for reproducibly forming a thermally and oxidatively stable high hydroxyl glycerol di-ester compound which is particularly useful as a lubricant. The glycerol di-ester compound is formed by reacting a glycidyl ester with an excess of a neo acid salt. The di-ester product is produced in a nearly quantitative conversion and is readily recoverable from the reaction mixture via a water wash, vacuum dry, and a mild wiped film evaporator treatment.

摘要： A synthetic ester composition which exhibits thermal and oxidative stability, lower friction coefficient and lower wear, wherein the ester composition comprises the reaction product of: a linear or branched alcohol having the general formula R(OH).sub.n, wherein R is an aliphatic or cyclo-aliphatic group having from about 2 to 20 carbon atoms and n is at least 2; and at least one linear and/or branched acid which has a carbon number in the range between about C.sub.4 to C.sub.20, wherein the synthetic ester composition has a hydroxyl number of between about greater than 5 to 180, preferably between about greater than 5 to 100, and more preferably between about 10 to 80.

The reformer distillates have a 1-ring and 2-ring aromatics content of at least 98%, and are added such that the transformer oil contains less than 10 wt % of reformer distillate. The invention also relates to a method for preparing transformer oils containing reformer distillates and having excellent gassing tendency, oxidative stability, viscosity and volatility.

摘要： A complex alcohol ester which comprises the reaction product of an add mixture of the following: a polyhydroxyl compound represented by the general formula: R(OH).sub.n wherein R is any aliphatic or cyclo-aliphatic hydrocarbyl group and n is at least 2, provided that the hydrocarbyl group contains from about 2 to 20 carbon atoms; a polybasic acid or an anhydride of a polybasic acid, provided that the ratio of equivalents of the polybasic acid to equivalents of alcohol from the polyhydroxyl compound is in the range between about 1.6:1 to 2:1; and a monohydric alcohol, provided that the ratio of equivalents of the monohydric alcohol to equivalents of the polybasic acid is in the range between about 0.84:1 to 1.2:1; wherein the complex alcohol ester exhibits a pour point of less than or equal to -20.degree. C., a viscosity in the range between about 100-700 cSt at 40.degree. C. and having a polybasic acid ester concentration of less than or equal to 70 wt. %, based on the complex alcohol ester.
