    摘要: Methods and systems are disclosed for treating injury to cardiac tissue by delivering a composition which provides structural support to the cardiac tissue. The composition helps to prevent chamber remodeling by providing structural reinforcement of the tissue or structural reinforcement of the tissue combined with biological therapy. The structurally reinforcing composition can thicken the wall of a heart, or act to prevent further thinning and thereby provide resistance against further remodeling. A number of compositions are disclosed, including multi-component substances such as autologous platelet gel, and other substances. The compositions disclosed can contain additives to augment/enhance the desired effects of the injection.

    摘要: Devices and methods for injecting or otherwise delivering multiple-component therapies to human or animal subjects. Devices having injectors (e.g., syringes) attached to biaxial or coaxial injection cannula(s) are used to deliver multiple components of a particular therapy such that those components become combined shortly before or upon exiting the injection cannula(s). In some embodiments, the injector devices of the present invention may include a first set of finger grips at a first location and a second set of finger grips at a second location. Also, in some embodiments, the injector devices of the present invention may include depth slops for controlling the depth within tissue at which the therapeutic substance is delivered. Also, in some embodiments, the injector devices of the present invention may include refill manifolds with attached syringes or other reservoirs containing the component substances to facilitate refilling of the injectors.

    摘要: A system for treating a septal defect comprises a treatment device slidably received within a catheter. The device includes a patch attached to a support. The support has a body segment and a plurality of leg segments that self-expand radially outward as the device is released from the catheter. A method for treating a septal defect comprises delivering the treatment device in the catheter proximate a septal defect. The device is slid in a distal direction to release a portion of each leg segment from the catheter, the leg segments partially expanded radially outward. The leg segments are placed in contact with tissue surrounding the septal defect. The device is slid farther until the leg segments are fully released from the catheter and fully expanded, thereby implanting a distal portion of each leg segment in tissue surrounding the septal defect and positioning the patch against the septal defect.

    摘要: The present invention provides a defect patch device and method that patches a defect in the heart or other cardiovascular tissue. One aspect provides a PFO closure device and method that patches a PFO in the right atrium without the device extending through the PFO into the left atrium. The patch device includes a patch and a heart tissue engaging member for attaching the device over the defect. A deployment device and method includes a device positioner to advance the device out of a catheter and to position the device over the defect to attach the device to the tissue around the defect. The positioner may include a device expander or opener that opens the device for deployment.
