摘要： Thermoplastic vulcanizates are described which include a carbonyl containing or carbonyl functionalized rubber crosslinked with a hydrosilylation crosslinking agent activated with a platinum containing catalyst. The carbonyl containing or carbonyl functionalized rubber facilitates making thermoplastic vulcanizates with higher lubricity, better contact clarity and alternative surface properties.

摘要： Phenolic resin curatives having a majority of dibenzyl ether linkages were unexpectedly found to be very effective in curing unsaturated rubbers in a blend of a crystalline polyolefin and said rubber. Their effectiveness exceeds that of conventional phenolic resins for many thermoplastic vulcanizate compositions allowing for the reformulation of the recipes with lower amounts of curatives and equivalent or superior physical properties in the resulting thermoplastic vulcanizate.

摘要： A thermoplastic vulcanizate (TPV) from a blend of a first thermoplastic polyolefin, a second thermoplastic olefin and a rubber is described. The rubber is crosslinked with a hydrosilylation crosslinking agent. The second polyolefin includes at least one OR group pendant to a Si atom chemically attached via one or more intermediate molecules to said second polyolefin. R can be hydrogen or an alkyl of 1 to 8 carbon atoms. The OR groups can react with the hydrosilylation catalyst to reduce the compression set of the TPV.

摘要： An improved process for the preparation of thermoplastic vulcanizates from butyl rubbers by hydrosilylation crosslinking of acrylic or alkacrylic functionalized copolymers of isobutylene and paramethylstyrene is disclosed. The functionalization results in lower compression and tension set than when using conventional butyl rubbers. Other physical properties of the thermoplastic vulcanizate are improved consistent with more efficient crosslinking of the functionalized copolymer.

摘要： Compositions including a thermoplastic elastomer or thermoplastic vulcanizate derived from a styrenic block copolymer having a reactive or crosslinkable hard block including aromatic vinyl repeat units and also preferably a crosslinkable soft block, and a non-olefin thermoplastic polymer or copolymer and preferably a compatibilizer such as the reaction product of a non-olefin thermoplastic polymer and a functionalized polymer such as a maleic anhydride functionalized styrenic block copolymer that is compatible with the styrenic block copolymer having a reactive or crosslinkable hard block, and optionally a linking compound. The vulcanizates are prepared by crosslinking the styrenic block copolymer in the presence of the non-olefin thermoplastic polymer and a suitable crosslinking agent, and optionally the compatibilizer, preferably utilizing dynamic vulcanization. In a further embodiment, thermoplastic vulcanizate compositions are provided including the styrenic block copolymer, a polyolefin polymer or copolymer, a non-olefin thermoplastic polymer and the compatibilizer.

摘要： A compatibilizer including a first portion compatible with a fluoropolymer and a second portion compatible with a polyolefin. Compatibilized compositions comprising a polyolefin, a fluoropolymer, and a compatibilizer are also disclosed. Methods for forming both the compatibilizer and the blends contained in the compatibilizer are described. The compatibilized compositions of the present invention exhibit desired mechanical properties such as tensile strength and elongation. The flame retarded compatibilized blends exhibit desirable dielectric properties, are flame resistant and exhibit low smoke emission.

The composition is dynamically vulcanized. The cured multi-component thermoplastic elastomer compositions exhibit good end use properties such as hardness, tensile strength, modulus, flexibility.
