The process provides a way of lowering the viscosity of the vinyl acetate polymer at a given solids content.

摘要： The present invention is a composition comprising a stable aqueous dispersion of polymer particles and a sorbate ester, which is a liquid at 20° C. and has a molecular weight in the range of 125 to 500 g/mol. The composition of the present invention provides a way to enhance film formation of coatings prepared using relatively high Tg latexes without the aid of high volatile organic content (VOC) coalescents.

摘要： A process to produce a dispersion comprising feeding ethylcellulose polymer and a dispersant into a melt and mix zone of an extruder wherein the ethylcellulose polymer and dispersant are melted and mixed together to form a melt; conveying the melt to an emulsification zone of the extruder in which the temperature and pressure are controlled; feeding a base and water into the emulsification zone wherein the melt is dispersed to form a high internal phase emulsion; conveying the emulsion to a dilution and cooling zone of the extruder; and feeding water into the dilution and cooling zone to dilute the high internal phase emulsion thereby forming an aqueous dispersion is provided.

摘要： The present invention provides amphiphilic comb polymer compositions of phosphorus acid group containing backbone polymers of methacrylic anhydride having hydrophobic alkyl, aryl, cycloalkyl or polyolefin ester or amide side chain groups formed on the backbone polymers and comprising from 75 to 100 wt. %, based on the total weight of monomers used to make the backbone polymer, of methacrylic acid polymerized units, wherein in the backbone polymer from 20 to less than 70 wt. %, preferably from 50 to 67 wt. % of the methacrylic acid polymerized units comprise methacrylic anhydride groups as determined by titration of the backbone polymer. As polymeric additives, the polymers can compatibilize polyolefins and polar polymers like polyesters.
