    Abstract: A vehicle window pane, includes, in this sequence, a first glass pane, one or a plurality of polymer layers, a PDLC layer, including a polymer matrix in which liquid crystal droplets are embedded, wherein an electrically conductive layer is arranged in each case on both sides of the PDLC layer, or an SPD layer, including a polymer matrix in which suspension droplets are embedded, in which light-polarizing particles are suspended, wherein an electrically conductive layer is arranged in each case on both sides of the SPD layer, one or a plurality of polymer layers, and a second glass pane, wherein, in the case of the PDLC layer, the liquid crystal droplets or, in the case of the SPD layer, the suspension droplets have an average size of more than 2 μm. The vehicle window pane can be switched between a transparent state and a turbid or opaque state.

    Abstract: A vehicle window has a plurality of integrated electro-optical elements, wherein the electro-optical elements have a common supply voltage, wherein the integrated electro-optical elements are controllable individually or in groups such that the electro-optical elements change the optical properties of the window at the respective location, wherein a first logical interface for feeding in the common supply voltage and a second logical interface for feeding in a common control signal are provided for controlling the electro-optical elements and for providing the common supply voltage, wherein, downstream from the logical interface, the control signal is converted into control signals for the control of the integrated electro-optical elements individually or in groups, wherein the physical interface is arranged on one of the outer faces of the window, wherein the physical interface for the first logical interface and the second logical interface has, together, 3 or 4 electrical connections.

    Abstract: A windshield with an electrically controllable sun visor is described. The windshield includes an outer pane and an inner pane that are bonded to one another via an intermediate layer. According to one aspect, a functional element with electrically controllable optical properties is incorporated into the intermediate layer and above a central field of vision. The functional element is connected to the outer pane via a region of a first thermoplastic layer, and is connected to the inner pane via a region of a second thermoplastic layer. According to another aspect, the region of the first thermoplastic layer and/or the region of the second thermoplastic layer is tinted or colored.
