摘要: A method for generating a block-based image histogram from data compressed by JPEG, MPEG-1, and MPEG-2, or uncompressed image data employing block-based linear quantization to generate histograms that include color, brightness, and edge components. The edge histogram, in particular, includes the global edge features, semi-global edge features, and local edge features. The global edge histogram is based on image blocks of the entire image space. The local edge histogram is based on a group of edge blocks. The semi-global edge histogram is based on the horizontally and the vertically grouped image blocks. A method for generating block-based image histogram with color information and brightness information of image data in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention extracts feature information of an image in terms of the block and updates global histogram bins on the basis of the feature information. The method for generating block-based image histogram with color information and brightness information of image data minimizes quantization error by employing linear weight and updates values of histogram bins. The error that occurs at a boundary between bins of the histograms and the linear weight depends on the distance between the histogram bins.

摘要: A drum for use in a dryer is provided. The drum includes a plurality of segments joined axially to form the drum's cylindrical shape. The drum has a simple structure enabling the use of standardized segments to facilitate dryer manufacture by reducing production costs, increasing productivity, and reducing failure rates. The drum, which has a cylindrical shape, is composed of a plurality of segments, preferably, three, each arranged axially with respect to the axis of the drum. The drum includes a coupling mechanism, provided on each side edge of each segment, for joining the segments to form the cylindrical shape of the drum.

摘要: A compact pipe specimen applicable to a fracture toughness test used to evaluate physical properties of a pipe material is provided. The compact pipe specimen includes: a pipe having a notch portion formed in a circumferential direction and a crack portion formed at the edge of the notch portion; and first and second jigs having openings to which a pressurizing unit is coupled so as to cause a bending load on the pipe, having the notch portion therebetween, and attached to the exterior surface of the pipe, respectively. It is unnecessary to correct the influence of a constraint effect due to varying sizes and shapes of the specimen. There is no restriction to the curvature and thickness of a pipe. A fracture behavior of a pipe crack portion can be precisely simulated.

摘要: An anti-warp heat spreader for semiconductor devices is disclosed, wherein the heat spreader is made of a metal sheet of substantially constant thickness, the metal sheet being perforated by at least one opening to allow for the percolation of an adhesive or a resin. The heat spreader is designed to strengthen the package by providing a strong bond between its components, i.e., the circuit board, die, heat spreader and reinforcing frame. At the same time the heat generated by the die during operation is efficiently dissipated. The heat spreader can easily be attached to the die by positioning it in the mold used to produce the reinforcing frame and then fill the mold with a mold compound. The mold compound will easily flow through the opening or openings, thereby filling the gap between the heat spreader and the die. The mold compound replaces the air that escapes from the gap through the opening or openings. Thus, a strong and intense connection between the die and the heat spreader is constituted. The bonding layer underneath the heat spreader and the reinforcing frame above the heat spreader are firmly. interconnected through the opening or openings.
