摘要: There is provided a molecularity measurement instrument capable of working out the number of molecules in a sample by comparing a measured value of a light quantity with a theoretical light quantity per a single molecule, and a molecularity measurement method using the same. The molecularity of the sample is quantitatively estimated on the basis of a light quantity having correlation with the molecularity. The molecularity measurement method comprises the step of working out a theoretical light quantity per a single molecule, the step of measuring a light quantity of the sample by use of an image detector, and the step of working out the molecularity of the sample on the basis of a ratio of the light quantity of the sample to the theoretical light quantity as worked out.

摘要: A chemical reaction cartridge enabling chemical reaction to be stably and safely carried out therein, and a method of using the same are provided. A chemical reaction cartridge is provided with a substrate, and an elastic member 2 overlaid on the substrate. A recess of a predetermined shape, depressed toward the top surface of the elastic member is formed in the back surface of the elastic member. The recess creates space between the substrate, and the elastic member, thereby making up a well, for holding the main ingredient of the epoxy adhesive, a flow path communicating with the well, a well for holding a curing agent for the epoxy adhesive, a flow path communicating with the well, a mixing part for mixing the main ingredient with the curing agent, and a discharge path for discharging a mixture. While the chemical reaction cartridge is not in use as yet, the flow paths, and the discharge path are closed, so that the wells are, in effect, in a hermetically sealed condition. The mixing part is made up of a plurality of flow paths intersecting each other. The respective starting ends of the flow paths are each linked with the flow path, or the flow path, and the respective terminals of the flow paths are linked with the discharge path. The terminal of the discharge path communicates with the outside via an end face of the cartridge.

摘要: A cartridge capable of making effective use of a sample is provided. A blood sample is injected into a well via an injection path by use of a syringe, and so forth. A roller, in a state as kept pressed into contact with the cartridge, is rotated rightward, whereupon an elastic member undergoes elastic deformation to cause the blood sample held in the well, and a liquid solvent held in a well to reach a well, and the blood sample is thereby mixed with the liquid solvent. Since the liquid solvent contains surfactant, blood cells are destroyed in the well. The liquid solvent reaches a well via a flow path. At this point in time, magnetic particles held in the well, and a cleaning liquid held in the well are merged with the mixed liquid in the well. A magnet is shifted from a position corresponding to the well to a position corresponding to the well along the flow path, thereby separating and transferring DNA caught by the magnetic particles to the well. Residue inside the well after removal of DNA is transferred to a well by the roller. The separated biopolymers are analyzed in the cartridge.

摘要: A fixing device for fixing a developing agent image on a recording medium includes a heat roller and a compression roller for pressing the recording medium against the circumferential surface of the heat roller. A discharge guide for guiding the recording paper passing between the rollers, away from the heat roller is arranged near the heat roller. The discharge guide has an end portion located adjacent to the heat roller, and is positioned by a positioning mechanism so that a predetermined distance is defined between the end portion of the discharge guide and the heat roller. The end portion of the guide is spaced away from the heat roller by spacers made of a relatively soft material. A cleaning element is positioned between the spacers. The spacers and cleaning element are biased against the heat roller by a spring force.

摘要: In an electromagnetic actuator, an electromagnetic drive section forms a flux path between a plunger and an inner yoke, each member being made of magnetic material, and which drives the plunger in an axial direction through electromagnetic force, an operation section has a dog movable between a connection position where it is connected with a mating part and a release position where it is apart from the mating part in the axial direction, and which restrains movement of the mating part in a circumferential direction when the dog is at the connection position, and a retaining ring is interposed between the plunger and the dog such that relative movement of the dog to the plunger in the circumferential direction is permitted and relative movement of the dog to the plunger in the axial direction is restricted.

摘要: A vehicle drive device includes an input member drivingly coupled to a drive output member of an internal combustion engine that rotates in a positive direction; an output member drivingly coupled to wheels; a rotating electrical machine; a distribution output member drivingly coupled to the output member; and a differential gear unit that distributes and transfers a torque, transferred to the input member, to the rotating electrical machine and the distribution output member. The distribution output member is placed coaxially with the input member and supported in a radial direction by a support bearing so as to be capable of rotating. Rotation of the input member in a negative direction is restricted by a one-way clutch. The one-way clutch is placed radially inward of the support bearing. At least a part of the one-way clutch is placed so as to overlap the support bearing as viewed in the radial direction.
