摘要: An apparatus for preparing foam for incorporation into cementitious slurry comprises a conduit having an inlet for receiving a gas feed and a surfactant feed, and an outlet for allowing the exit of foam. The conduit houses a porous plug that provides a partial barrier to fluid flow along the conduit, the plug comprising a plurality of particles that are packed in a regular array and that define a three-dimensional network of pores extending therebetween. The apparatus comprises a resilient component located between the plug and the conduit.

摘要: A chemical reaction cartridge enabling chemical reaction to be stably and safely carried out therein, and a method of using the same are provided. A chemical reaction cartridge is provided with a substrate, and an elastic member 2 overlaid on the substrate. A recess of a predetermined shape, depressed toward the top surface of the elastic member is formed in the back surface of the elastic member. The recess creates space between the substrate, and the elastic member, thereby making up a well, for holding the main ingredient of the epoxy adhesive, a flow path communicating with the well, a well for holding a curing agent for the epoxy adhesive, a flow path communicating with the well, a mixing part for mixing the main ingredient with the curing agent, and a discharge path for discharging a mixture. While the chemical reaction cartridge is not in use as yet, the flow paths, and the discharge path are closed, so that the wells are, in effect, in a hermetically sealed condition. The mixing part is made up of a plurality of flow paths intersecting each other. The respective starting ends of the flow paths are each linked with the flow path, or the flow path, and the respective terminals of the flow paths are linked with the discharge path. The terminal of the discharge path communicates with the outside via an end face of the cartridge.

摘要: Disclosed is an assembly for mixing fluids (i.e., gases or liquids), and more particularly an assembly that accurately mixes two or more high-pressure fluid sources and is adapted for use in applications, such as for example, chromatography. The mixer assembly includes, inter alia, a housing, an inlet fitting, and a mixer cartridge assembly. The housing has a fluid receiving section and a fluid discharge section with a fluid outlet formed therein. A central bore extends between the fluid receiving section and fluid discharge section. An inlet fitting is engaged with the housing and has first and second fluid inlet ports formed therein that extend from the fitting exterior to the fluid receiving section of the housing. A mixer cartridge assembly is disposed within the central bore of the housing and is positioned between the inlet fitting and the downstream end portion of the housing. The mixer cartridge assembly includes a body portion, a plurality of spheres disposed within a central mixing chamber formed in the body portion, and mechanism for retaining the spheres in the mixing chamber.

摘要: A device for use in the manufacture of lightweight concrete includes a first end having a reduced diameter portion for connection to a water supply line, an opposite second discharge end, and a cylindrical body between the first and second ends. An interior chamber within the cylindrical body has mesh screens at the opposite ends. Beads are filled within the interior chamber, between the mesh screens. In a preferred embodiment, the beads are formed of a plastic composition or stainless steel and range in diameter between four and seven millimeters. Water and a foaming agent, introduced under pressure through the first end of the device, are mixed and agitated while passing through the bead packed interior chamber to produce a resultant foam mixture of consistent bubble size. The foam mixture is discharged from the open second end of the device and is mixed with Portland cement to produce lightweight insulating concrete for use in the installation of roof decks of a building structure.

摘要: A humidification system (A) for humidifying a dry hydrocarbon stream includes a column (10) which defines an interior cavity (20). The cavity is partially filled with a bed (12) of a packing material (40) and a layer of water (20), leaving a headspace above the water. An inlet (52) adjacent a lower end of the cavity receives a dry hydrocarbon stream which is broken up by the packing material and dissolves water as it passes therethrough. Entrained water droplets fall out of the wet blend in a disengagement zone (70) above the water layer leaving the hydrocarbon stream humidified yet substantially free of liquid water in an upper region (72) of the column.

摘要: A chemical foaming system for use in a floor cleaning machine has a foam generator and a delivery system upstream of the foam generator in communication with a source of pressurized fluid and a source of liquid cleaning solution. The delivery system delivers pressurized fluid and liquid cleaning solution to the foam generator. A dispensing system is disposed downstream of the foam generator for dispensing foam generated by the foam generator onto the floor being cleaned. The foam generator has a pair of independent foaming chambers in generally parallel flow relationship intermediate the delivery system and the dispensing system whereby a portion of pressurized fluid and liquid cleaning solution delivered to the foam generator by the delivery system flows into one of the foaming chambers. The remaining portion of the pressurized fluid and liquid cleaning solution delivered to the foam generator flows into the other foaming chamber. Each foaming chamber is adapted for generating a foam therein for dispensing onto the floor by the dispensing system.
