It is produced by a process which comprises casting a dope of the polymetaphenylene isophthalamide-based polymer and coagulating it in a coagulating bath. The porous film may also contain inorganic whiskers, and a composite porous film may be formed in combination with a separate thermoplastic polymer film.

Made of the polyester elastomer comprising 1,2-bis�4-(2-hydroxyethyl)phenoxy!ethane as the diol component constituting said aromatic polyester component, or 1,4-benzenediethanol and ethyleneglycol as the diol component constituting said aromatic polyester component, the elastic fiber features excellent elastic properties in the event of great deformation and provides suitable material for clothing.

A resin composition comprising: a polyimide comprising a recurring unit represented by the following formula (1): wherein Ar0 is an aromatic hydrocarbon group having 6 to 15 carbon atoms, and R1 is at least one group selected from the group consisting of the divalent residual group obtained by removing two amino groups from an aliphatic diamine having 2 to 30 carbon atoms and the divalent residual group obtained by removing two amino groups from an alicyclic diamine having 4 to 30 carbon atoms, and a polyarylate or polyester carbonate. This resin composition has excellent heat resistance, dimensional stability and transparency. Particularly, the resin composition having excellent transparency is advantageously used as a molded product such as a flexible printed board.

A meta-type wholly aromatic polyamide containing, as principal repeating units, meta-phenylenediamineisophthalamide units is dissolved in an amide compound solvent; the resultant polymer solution is subjected to a wet-spinning procedure wherein the polymer solution is extruded in the form of filamentary streams into a coagulation bath containing an amide compound-containing solvent and water but substantially not containing salts, through spinning orifices of a spinneret, to coagulate the extruded filamentary polymer solution streams in the coagulation bath; the coagulated porous undrawn filaments are subjected to a drawing procedure wherein the porous undrawn filaments are drawn in a plasticizing drawing bath containing an aqueous solution of an amide compound solvent; the resultant drawn filaments are washed with water, and then heat-treated (for example, further drawn at a draw ratio of 0.7 to 4.0 while being heated at a temperature of 250 to 400° C.), to provide uniform and dense meta-type wholly aromatic polyamide fibers.

A thermoplastic resin composition comprising an aromatic polyester and an amorphous polyimide. There is provided, for example, a polyalkylene naphthalate resin composition having greatly improved moldability and enhanced crystallinity, and being free from troubles such as bleeding out after molded. The resin composition further exhibits reduced emission of fluorescence and excellent weatherability and delamination resistance.
