摘要: A tunable resistance system includes a layer of a first functional material deposited on a component of the system. The first functional material undergoes a phase transition at a first critical voltage. An insulating layer is deposited upon the layer of first functional material. A layer of a second functional material deposited on the insulating layer. The second functional material undergoes a phase transition at a second critical voltage. The insulating layer is configured to induce a stress on the layer so as to change the first critical voltage. In this way, the resistance of the system is tunable, allowing the system to undergo multi-stage electrical switching of resistive states.

摘要: A CMOS image sensor that is capable of both voltage- and current-mode operations selects the mode based on the position of mode switches. Each pixel on the imager has a single transistor acting as either source follower for voltage readout, or transconductor for current readout. The two modes share the same readout lines, but have their own correlated double sampling (CDS) units for noise suppression. A current-mode readout technique using a velocity-saturated short-channel transistor may be used to achieve high linearity. An image array may be formed as a mixture of 3 types of pixels with identical photodiodes and access switches. The readout transistors are optimally sized for their designated mode of operation. Alternatively, two readout transistors are provided per pixel, each individually optimized for the desired mode of operation.

摘要: A method and device for charging a metal hydride hydrogen store (13) is described. It comprises generating gaseous hydrogen in an electrolyser (1), transporting the gaseous hydrogen to the metal hydride store and feeding the metal hydride store with the hydrogen. For having the hydrogen free of water contamination, the gaseous hydrogen is first transported under a first pressure of at least 1 MPa which pressure is then reduced by a pressure adjusting means (11) to a second, designated pressure lower to the first pressure, the second pressure being the feeding pressure to the metal hydride store. 摘要: An online payment system uses an electronic check system to make a payment to a merchant on behalf of an online customer. The electronic check system receives a check application request of the customer, creates an electronic check number and a password for the check, outputs the check information to the customer, and stores the check information in the electronic check system. When a merchant system receives an online payment request of the customer, it sends the request to the electronic check system, which then parses out a payment electronic check number and a payment check password from the payment request, verifies the parsed information with the stored check the information, and makes a payment to the merchant. The electronic check system is centralized and shared by multiple merchants. A payment only needs access to the electronic check system, without requiring participation of multiple receipt-acquiring systems of individual merchants.

摘要: A system for reliable multicast distribution includes a primary content engine and a backup content engine sender. The primary content engine sender sends out a multicast message of content to selected content engine receivers. The sender waits for negative acknowledgments from the selected content engine receivers declaring that content was not received. If a negative acknowledgment is received, the sender resends the multicast message a predetermined number of times. If the content is still not received after the number of multicast passes is exhausted, the sender sends out unicast messages to those receivers still requesting content. If the primary sender does not respond to a negative acknowledgment, the receiver sends a second negative acknowledgment to the backup multicast sender. The backup responds with the data requested in the negative acknowledgment and so is able to begin data distribution at the point where the primary sender left off without maintaining synchronicity with the primary sender.
