    Abstract: A novel scoring function called SPA takes account of both specificity and affinity of highly efficient and specific protein-ligand binding. The method to develop SPA is based on the funneled energy landscape theory and employs affinity and specificity of biomolecular interactions. The quantified specificity of the native protein-ligand complex, which discriminates against “non-native” binding modes, and the affinity prediction are simultaneously optimized during the development. SPA is obtained by maximizing the specificity and affinity prediction of a large training set of “native” protein-ligand complexes with known structures and affinities. SPA can be employed to discriminate drugs from the diversity set, or to discriminate selective drugs from non-selective drugs. The remarkable performance of SPA makes it promising to be implemented in the docking software and widely applied in virtual screening for seeking the lead compounds.

    Abstract: A portal frame platform comprises at least three elongate tubular legs extending vertically downward from a top above the waterline to the seabed without horizontal or diagonal bracing members in-between, and a horizontal deck with at least three circular sleeves concentrically coupled to the top of the legs supporting a wind turbine in an in-service configuration. The portal frame platform supporting the wind turbine has an installation configuration with two barges connected to opposite sides of the deck, and the legs extending vertically upward from a bottom above the waterline through the circular sleeves. A construction method includes twelve-steps for quayside assembling, sea-towing and self-installing the portal frame platform with the wind turbine and foundation piles wherein the portable frame platform is converted from the installation configuration to the in-service configuration by lowering the legs through the circular sleeves using wire and winch systems on the two barges.

    Abstract: A dual horsehead block and tackle beam pumping unit including a steel frame, a walking beam installed on top of the steel frame, horseheads with movable pulleys, pulling wire ropes, load wire ropes, damping extension springs, a reversing reducer, an output drum, a counterweight box, reversing brake mechanisms, and an electric motor is provided for single well and dual well operations. The horseheads are installed on opposing ends of the walking beam. The movable pulley of each horsehead has a pulling wire rope. The first and second ends of each pulling wire rope are connected to the damping extension spring and the output drum respectively. A lower end of the load wire rope hanging on the right hand side horsehead is connected to the counterweight box.
