Abstract: Concepts of an omnidirectional pinion wheel are described. In one embodiment, the wheel includes first and second rims each including inner and outer rim surfaces, and an annular ring of rollers affixed on the outer surface of one of the first and second annular rim. Using an axis of freedom of the rollers, the wheel can move sideways in addition to forward and backward. Further, when used with a vertical rack gear, the wheel can provide vertical displacement by engagement between teeth of the gear and the pinion ring. Additionally, various racks and tracks with teeth for pinion ring engagement are described along with an example vehicle capable of vertical displacement using the wheels.

Abstract: Provided is a mobile X-ray apparatus which can be manually moved even in a case where a battery is exhausted. The mobile X-ray apparatus according to the present invention is configured to include a motor that drives a driving wheel of a mobile cart via a clutch, a battery that supplies electric power to the motor, a cart manipulation unit that manipulates movement of the mobile cart, and a selector switch that switches between two manipulation states which are a normal manipulation state and a manual manipulation state of the mobile cart. The motor is configured to brake when electric power stops being supplied from the battery. In a case where the manual manipulation state is selected, electric power stops being supplied from the battery to the motor, and the driving wheel and the motor can be controlled so as to be attached to and be detached from each other.

Abstract: In an engine-overrun-preventing control device, if an engine speed exceeds a maximum speed, a minimum value of an inching rate is set such that higher the actual engine speed results in a higher minimum value of an inching rate. The hydraulic pump displacement is adjusted to obtain a higher inching rate between the minimum value of the inching rate and an inching rate set based on a brake stroke. If the engine speed exceeds a commanded speed and a pressure time-rate-of-change at the pump intake exceeds a prescribed value, the minimum value of the inching rate is set such that the higher the pressure time-rate-of-change, the higher the minimum value of the inching rate. The pump displacement is adjusted to obtain a higher inching rate between the minimum value of the inching rate set based on the pressure time-rate-of-change and the inching rate set based on the brake stroke.

Abstract: An off road vehicle of the kind having fluid-distensible bag rollers for supporting the vehicle load uses bag rollers which are constructed to afford maximum flexibility in both the walls and tread and which are also constructed to be dynamically balanced.The vehicle also incorporates suspensions which effectively dampen oscillation of the bag rollers to facilitate and to permit high speed operations of the vehicle across rough terrain.A top drive roller is associated with a bag roller in certain embodiments of the off road vehicle in ways which minimize bag wear.Specific bag constructions are provided for improved operation of the off road vehicle for on-highway use.The vehicle includes two frame sections which are connected to permit frame (yaw) steering and swiveling (roll) between the two sections while preventing a bending between the frame sections (pitch) to thereby provide a strong back mode of operation. When equipped with 4 bags on each frame, the vehicle permits increased speed over rough terrain.The bag roller in a fixed position serves as a transport device for supporting and moving material having uneven and/or fragile surfaces and, in a specific embodiment, is mounted in a support for use as a transportation element in a conveyor system, or as a forceful puller for lineal objects, such as pipelines, accommodating uneven dimensions.
