Abstract: A method for operating a motor vehicle drive train having a drive aggregate, an automated group transmission connected between the drive aggregate and a drive output, and a disconnect clutch connected between the drive aggregate and the group transmission. The group transmission has a plurality of sub-transmissions, including a main transmission, a splitter group upstream from the main transmission, and a range group downstream from the main transmission. When the disconnect clutch cannot be shifted to carry out a shifting operation in the group transmission, an emergency shifting program is activated. Shifting from a current gear to a target gear is carried out automatically, as a function of input rotation speed of the group transmission or as a function of rotation speed of the drive aggregate, while the disconnect clutch is closed and where the main transmission and/or the range group participate exclusively, but not the splitter group.

Abstract: The invention relates to the actuation of a converter lock-up clutch (44) of a hydrodynamic torque converter (4) in a vehicle drive-train by means of a safety function where, in addition to a driving strategy function, the safety function can actuate the converter lock-up clutch (44) by issuing a clutch actuation command. For this purpose, at least one rotation speed at the torque converter (4) is monitored. If the monitored rotation speed is below a rotation speed threshold, the safety function commands an actuation of the converter lock-up clutch (44) in its opening direction.

Abstract: A method for, during creep mode, performing gearshift in a vehicle powertrain comprising a combustion engine, a gearbox, and a clutch is provided. The method comprises, in response to a request for gearshift, disconnecting the combustion engine from the gearbox by opening the clutch. The method further comprises, when the combustion engine is disconnected from the gearbox, shifting the gearbox and controlling the speed of the combustion engine to a target speed. Said target speed constitutes a combustion engine speed corresponding a desired combustion engine torque for completing a torque ramp during closing of the clutch. The method further comprises connecting the combustion engine to the gearbox by closing the clutch. A control device configured to perform the method and a vehicle comprising the control device are also provided.

Abstract: Vehicles, systems, and methods for shifting a manual transmission into neutral during autonomous braking are provided. An exemplary system for shifting a vehicle into neutral during autonomous braking includes a manual transmission for transferring power from an engine to a differential using gears manually selected by a gear selector. Also, the system includes an actuator mounted to the vehicle and to the gear selector. Further, the system includes a controller coupled to the actuator and configured to direct the actuator to force the gear selector into neutral during an autonomous braking event.

Abstract: A method for operating a motor vehicle, the motor vehicle including a prime mover (1), a transmission (2), and a driven end (3), wherein the transmission (2) is an automatic or automated transmission and is connected between the prime mover (1) and the driven end (3). The method includes activating a sailing mode of the motor vehicle depending on at least one operating condition of the motor vehicle; performing a gear select interlock in the transmission (2), while maintaining the sailing mode, when the sailing mode is active; and deactivating the sailing mode is subsequently depending on at least one operating condition of the motor vehicle. The gear select interlock is implemented in the transmission (2) depending on a rotational speed of the prime mover (1) and depending on synchronous speeds of the gears of the transmission (2).

Abstract: An electronic continuously variable transmission (ECVT) system applicable to a motorcycle includes a first speed sensor, second speed sensor, continuously variable transmission (CVT) and control unit. The control unit receives a user control signal and accordingly controls a speed-changing state of the CVT. While the motorcycle is operating in a manual-operation mode, the control unit predicts, according to the user control signal, a first speed signal sent from the first speed sensor, and a second speed signal sent from the second speed sensor, whether the next gear indicated by the shift request signal will cause the motorcycle to move unsteadily. If so, the control unit ignores the shift request signal and refuses to perform gear shifting. If not, the control unit sends at least a shift control signal to the CVT so that the CVT performs gear shifting.

Abstract: Described herein is a control system for a vehicle with an infinitely variable transmission (IVT) having a ball planetary variator (CVP), providing a smooth and controlled operation. In some embodiments, the vehicle is a fork lift truck. An operator commands a brake pedal, an accelerator pedal, a direction switch (or gear selector), and a hydraulic lever, which are evaluated by the control system to determine a current operating state of the vehicle. Some operating states include, forward drive, reverse drive, vehicle braking, automatic deceleration, inching, power reversal, vehicle hold, and park, among others. The control system is configured to determine a commanded engine speed based at least in part on the hydraulic lever signal.
