A material composition for play or modelling purposes includes a particulate material and a binder which is disposed as thin layers on the particles. T-he binder includes a hydroxy-terminated polymer cross-linked by a boron compound, in particular a silicone oil. The concentration of particles is 90-98 vol % of the finished composition. A method for producing the material composition includes placing the particles in a mixer, adding the hydroxyl-terminated polymer, in particular silicone oil, and distributing it as thin layers on the surfaces of the particles and, thereafter, adding a boron-containing cross-linking agent in solution and mixing so that a cross-linking of the polymer takes place and the viscosity increases.

Disclosed is a glass resin ceramic (GRC) composition and method of producing the same. The GRC composition is based on a waste thermoplastic synthetic resin formulated with waste ceramic and/or waste glass. The GRC composition has higher tensile strength, bending strength and durability than do the conventional concrete compositions obtained from an admixture of flyash and slag. Also, the GRC composition shows high dimensional stability such that, when it is used to construct large-size products, uniform quality is guaranteed. Thanks to its high specific gravity, the GRC composition can be applied for the production of the products which need a considerable weight. Further, desired colors can be expressed in the composition. Reuse of waste ceramics and glass will give contribution to settlement of environmental pollution.

A method for decorating an artificial stone laminate, for example, a quartz resin composite is provided. In the manufacturing process, a substantially thin layer of transparent or translucent particulates is deposited on a release surface. Color pigments or any coloring material that imparts color and/or contrast are selectively deposited in areas on the transparent or translucent particulates to create patterns and designs. A layer of reinforcing fibers, for example, glass fibers, is placed on the layer of transparent or translucent particulates. A binder, deposited on the layer of reinforcing fibers, fills gaps between the transparent or translucent particulates and binds the reinforcing fibers to the transparent or translucent particulates. After the artificial stone laminate cures, the artificial stone laminate is polished to expose a flat, transparent or translucent surface of the transparent or translucent particulates that have been selectively colored by the coloring material to create visual patterns and designs.
