    摘要: Methods and systems for forming a frame, such as door and window frames, are provided. In some implementations, a method for forming a frame includes clamping the frame on a rotation device, the frame having a plurality of frame members and a plurality of corners defined by the plurality of frame members. The rotation device is for rotating the frame and providing a liquid material into each corner of the frame through injection holes formed in frame members. The liquid material sets to form a solid structural member bridging and connecting the frame members. The liquid is poured into the corner area with the corner at the bottom and the members diverging upwardly and outwardly therefrom and the liquid material has a viscosity so that it settles to form a level height into and across each frame member but does not leak from the butting surfaces of the members.

    摘要: An apparatus for melting and dispensing thermoplastic material is provided that includes an un-heated hopper having an inlet for receiving particles of a thermoplastic material and an outlet for discharging the particles and a heated manifold including at least one cavity formed therein and having an inlet and an outlet the inlet communicating with the outlet of the hopper for receipt of the particles from the hopper. The hopper is disposed external of the heated manifold. The heated manifold is effective for melting the particles into molten thermoplastic material therein. The apparatus further includes a pump having an inlet in fluid communication with the cavity. An outlet of the pump is in fluid communication with an inlet of a dispenser and an outlet of the dispenser is effective for dispensing the molten thermoplastic material therethrough.

The first wall includes ridges defining a trough for receiving a bead of sealant. The second wall includes a shelf and a ramp between the shelf and the cavity opening. During assembly, the edge of the pane engages the ramp and follows the contour thereof toward a seated position on the shelf and toward a seated position against the ridges and sealant bead. This avoids the squeezing out of any sealant onto exposed portions of the pane.

    摘要: A profile for use in the manufacture of frames for windows and the like comprises a core (1) of generally rectangular cross section of laminated plywood or cement-bonded fibrous material with a cladding (3) of plastics material, for example polyvinylchloride or polycarbonate, extruded therearound. The extruded cladding (3) provides, extending along the length of the profile, a glass (or other) panel retaining member (9) which is inclined inwardly (preferably at 45.degree. or substantially so) over a surface of the profile, and an undercut rib 11 spaced from the member (9). In manufacturing frames from the profile the latter is cut into appropriate lengths by saw cuts (31-39) extending at 45.degree. across the profile, alternate ones of the frame members being assembled to form inner (40) and outer (42) frames for a window or the like, the panel retaining members (9) being severed from the outer frame members and used as glazing strips (9'0 for the inner frame members, being supported by the undercut face (23) of the rib (11) and a glazing clip (100) supported by said surface of the profile. An alternative form of glazing clip (47) is described. The frame members are secured together at the frame corners by means of plastics material injected into cavities (207) formed through adjacent faces (205) of the frame members and provided with metallic reinforcements (211).

    摘要: Methods of joining members, forming molded portions with members, securing inserts with members, and joined members, such as for a frame or a frame for a fenestration unit, formed thereby, are disclosed. One embodiment of the method includes placing a first member with a first cavity in a joining position, placing a second member proximate the first cavity of the first member in the joining position, injecting a resin into the first cavity, allowing the resin to solidify at least partially to join the first member and second member to form a joined member, and removing the joined member from the joining position. Optionally, the joined member can be formed in a fixture, can include molded portions formed by the resin, and/or can include inserts held in place by the resin. Further, members without cavities can form a cavity that can receive the resin.

    摘要: A method of forming a joint (32) between two plastics extrusions (10) is disclosed which comprises mitring the extrusions (10) so that they form the desired angle to one another removing part of the rear face of each extrusion (10) placing the mitred extrusions in a mould and injecting a resin material whereby to bond the extrusions (10) to one another and produce the desired joint (32) configuration. Because the front surface (24) of the joint in accordance with the invention is entirely made up from the original extrusion, there are no problems with raised sight-lines, colour differentials, surface differences, or colour matching. Moreover, the method of the invention allows a corner to be produced which has a clean right angled rather than radiused inner portion.

The door leaf or casing frame is assembled by joining hollow sections (3-6; 7-10) and T-pieces with the use of a binder; the hollow sections are particularly of Duroplastic with longitudinally extending reinforcing fibers. A joint plate is disposed in the connecting joints or mitre joints (15, 15a) of the frame corners, said plate having through channels for the binder, T-pieces being integrated with the joint plate.     摘要: A frame especially suitable for panes of glass is a hollow channel which is reinforced, either by a rib projecting from the channel web a distance less than half of the height of the channel walls or by a plurality of spaced transverse partitions connecting the sidewalls and forming cavities. Bores through the partitions provided an interior passage for a continuous reinforcing strip. Bores through the perimetrically inner sidewall receive clamps or setscrews adjustable from the cavity and engageable with the glass pane. A cover having resilient strips snap-engageable in the cavities closes the hollow channel. The frame may be made of straight channel sections connected at abutting mitered corners by a bent or curved hollow member spanning the corner joint. Hardened adhesive embeds the connecting member in the channel.
