Performing the current value evaluation further includes modifying the existing optimal parking current value to the motor current value when the motor current value exceeds or is equal to the existing optimal parking current value.

A compact compressor is provided which can be used for production of very high-pressure end products using a multi-stage compression process. In one exemplary application, the compressor can be used for each stage of the multi-stage compression process used in production of compressed natural gas (CNG), in which low-pressure natural gas (NG) is compressed to less than 1 percent of its volume at standard atmospheric pressure (e.g., to 2,900-3,600 psi or 20-25 MPa). The compressor includes spark-avoidance, heat-mitigation and oil separation systems to safely and effectively produce CNG from NG.

A control method is used with a control system to control a screw pump. The control system includes an electric motor and a motor drive. The control method includes following steps. Firstly, a DC bus voltage is monitored. If the DC bus voltage is smaller than a first threshold value, a potential energy stored in the pump screw and released by a backspin action is converted into a regenerative electrical energy so as to maintain a normal operation of the motor drive. Then, the motor drive drives the electric motor to control the backspin action of the screw pump according to a backspin torque limit strategy. If the electrical power from the power source is not restored and the level of a reverse regenerative torque is smaller than a preset torque value, the backspin action of the screw pump is stopped freely.
