A detection device is a device that irradiates a subject with X-rays and detects the X-rays transmitting through the subject, and includes an X-ray source that emits X-rays, a table that holds the subject, a detector that detects at least a portion of the transmitted X-rays emitted from the X-ray source and transmitted through the subject, and a first guide device and a second guide device that guide movement of the table in a direction parallel to an optical axis of the X-ray source while supporting the table. In this detection device, a guide plane, which is parallel to the optical axis and is a plane to which the movement of the table is regulated, passes through the inside of a detection region of the transmitted X-rays of the detector.

    摘要: A method for calibrating a nuclear gauge of the having a source includes providing a nuclear gauge comprising a radiation source, the radiation source being coupled with a computing system with a machine readable program stored thereon containing a calibration routine. An operator places the gauge on one or more specified blocks to adjust the source within each block to one or more specified positions to initiate a count. The method includes determining that the source is at each position before each count begins, adjusting the counting times before each count begins by the program on the nuclear gauge based on each position of the source to obtain calibration information, obtaining counts at each position, storing the counts within the computing system of the nuclear gauge, and calculating for each position calibration coefficients.

    摘要: A method for locating/identifying and inspecting radiology shields to facilitate the safe use thereof is carried out by providing a set of radiology shields, each of the radiology shields having a unique identifier, and each of the radiology shields carrying a passive RFID tag, the passive RFID tag associated with the unique identifier; providing a central database, the database comprising common data and individual shield data; transmitting the common data and individual shield data for at least shields to be inspected to a portable RFID reader; identifying, with the portable RFID reader, shields to be inspected based on the inspection time interval and the data of last inspection; entering a determination of pass or fail inspection into the portable RFID reader for each of the shields to be inspected; and updating the central database individual shield data for each of the shields to be inspected from the portable RFID reader.

    摘要: The subject matter described herein includes methods, systems, and computer program products for measuring the density of a material. According to one aspect, a material property gauge includes a nuclear density gauge for measuring the density of a material. A radiation source adapted to emit radiation into a material and a radiation detector operable to produce a signal representing the detected radiation. A first material property calculation function may calculate a value associated with the density of the material based upon the signal produced by the radiation detector. The material property gauge includes an electromagnetic moisture property gauge that determines a moisture property of the material. An electromagnetic field generator may generate an electromagnetic field where the electromagnetic field sweeps through one or more frequencies and penetrates into the material. An electromagnetic sensor may determine a frequency response of the material to the electromagnetic field across the several frequencies.
