Abstract: A method for mitigating loss circulation zones in a wellbore is provided. The method includes synthesizing a carbamate from an amine-curing agent, and the carbamate is mixed with an epoxy resin from the loss control composition. The loss control composition is pumped into a wellbore with a loss circulation zone, wherein the loss control composition flows into the loss circulation zone. The carbamate of the loss control composition is allowed to decompose at wellbore temperatures, wherein the carbamate releases CO2 gas and the amine-curing agent. The CO2 gas foams the epoxy resin, expanding the epoxy resin to fill voids in the loss circulation zone, and the amine-curing agent cures the foamed epoxy resin, forming a loss control material that seals the loss circulation zone.

In some embodiments of the present disclosure, the reacting and the decomposing may occur at substantially the same rate.

The preparation method of a super absorbent polymer includes: preparing a monomer mixture including a water-soluble ethylene-based unsaturated monomer having at least partially neutralized acidic groups and an internal cross-linking agent; adjusting a dynamic pressure applied to the monomer mixture being transferred to 140 Pa or more by controlling a transfer rate while transferring the monomer mixture to a polymerization reactor; cross-linking and polymerizing the monomer mixture transferred to the polymerization reactor to form a hydrogel polymer; drying, pulverizing and classifying the hydrogel polymer to form a base resin powder; and further cross-linking a surface of the base resin powder in the presence of a surface cross-linking agent to form a surface cross-linked layer.

Abstract: The invention relates to a curable volume expandable polymer composition comprising an organic acid component, wherein the organic acid component comprises a first organic acid, a second organic acid, and optionally one or more additional organic acids; wherein said polymer composition, when being heated to an activation of expansion temperature above room temperature, undergoes volume expansion. When the organic acid component is heated to the activation of expansion temperature, the first organic acid and/or the second organic acid and/or the optionally present one or more additional organic acids decarboxylate and thus release carbon dioxide. The polymer composition traps the thus released carbon dioxide thereby causing the polymer composition to undergo volume expansion.

Abstract: A thermoset non-isocyanate polyurethane foam (NIPU) composition includes a reaction product of a polycyclic carbonate, a polyamine; and a foaming ingredient including a carbonate-based chemical foaming agent. The reaction product is configured to form a urethane bond. The polycyclic carbonate and the polyamine can be bio-derived. A process for making the NIPU foam includes the steps of: (a) selecting a polycyclic carbonate and a polyamine; (b) mixing the polycyclic carbonate and the polyamine to form a reactant product including a partially cured gel matrix; (c) adding a foaming ingredient comprising a blowing agent including a carbonate; (d) curing the mixture to form the NIPU foam. Optionally, a first catalyst can be added to step (b); and additional foaming ingredients selected from the group consisting of an accelerant, a surfactant, and a combination thereof can be added prior to step (d).
