    摘要: An apparatus for increasing the bending strength of tubes is provided. The apparatus may include an adapter and at least one sprint element. The adapter may have a shape that is matched to a cross-sectional shape of a tube end in such a manner that the adapter may be fitted to a tube connection of a device instead of the tube end and the tube end may be fitted to the adapter. The at least one spring element may be connected to the adapter. The at least one spring element may project out of the adapter in the direction of the tube. The at least one spring element may include a holding element at the projecting end. The holding element matches the cross-sectional shape of the tube and describes at least half the periphery of the tube. A fitted tube abuts against the holding element when the tube is subjected to bending. The rigidity of the spring element increases the bending strength of the tube in the region between the adapter unit and the holding element.

    摘要: An active slender tube as implemented as a catheter, guide wire, or any other medical or non-medical micro-mechanical or -system or system's active micro-component is disclosed that has a simple structure which facilitates the active slender tube to be reduced in diameter and with the capability of being multi-functionalized. The slender tube is provided in its distal, active end portion in the form of “J” with a bending, a torsionally rotating, an extending and retracting and/or a stiffness control mechanism. These mechanisms are adapted to bend, torsionally rotate, extend/retract and adjust stiffness of, the active end portion, respectively, with precision. Each mechanism comprises an outer skeleton including a liner coil spring, and an SMA (shape memory alloy) made coil actuator disposed inside of the liner coil coaxially therewith and fastened thereto. In the extending and retracting mechanism, the SMA made actuator is fastened to the liner coil spring upon deformation to have a length varied from a length of the SMA made actuator in its natural state. In the torsionally rotating mechanism, the SMA made actuator is fastened to the liner coil spring upon deformation to have a coil diameter torsionally varied from a coil diameter of the SMA made actuator in its natural shape memory step. The stiffness control mechanism has an SMA made actuator in its natural shape memory state.

    摘要: A corrosion-resistant and fire-resistant pipe system suitable for sprinkler systems and the like in the offshore industry and also on military and civilian seagoing vessels, and generally as sprinkler systems in official buildings and in industrial buildings. The pipe system is characterized in that the pipe system includes rigid and cold-formable pipe sections (10) that have one or more tubular rubber layers (11, 13, 15) and reinforcement layers (12, 14) that surround or embrace one or more of the tubular rubber layers (11, 13, 15). The reinforcement layers are comprised of wires or ribbons that have been wound, braided, knitted or formed in some other way so as to cross each other, wherein each of the wires or ribbons defines with the longitudinal axis of the pipe section a winding or spiraling angle that imparts the greatest possible strength to the reinforced, tubular rubber layers (11, 13, 15). In the present case, the system also includes branch connections (18) for connecting a pipe section (10) to another pipe section in a multi-path coupling.
