    摘要: Disclosed herein is the preparation of indigo-dyed cotton denim fabrics suitable for use in making cotton denim garments and other denim articles. These indigo-dyed fabrics are prepared from cotton warp yarn which has been pre-treated with an emulsion copolymer prior to being contacted with an aqueous dye liquor comprising a dispersion of an indigo dyestuff. Such copolymer-treated cotton warp yarn can be woven or knitted into cotton denim griege fabrics along with untreated cotton weft yarn. Such griege denim fabric can then be indigo-dyed using the aqueous dye liquor. Alternatively, the emulsion copolymer-treated cotton warp yarn can be indigo-dyed by contact with the aqueous dye liquor before this warp yarn is incorporated into denim fabric along with the untreated cotton weft yarn. The cotton denim fabric produced by either method has the appearance of conventional ring-dyed indigo fabrics.

    摘要: A cationic dye carrier composition comprising a mixture of between about 50 wt% and about 85 wt% phenoxyethanol; between about 5 wt% and about 45 wt% of the triethanol amine salt of phenoxy poly(ethyleneoxy) phosphonic ester having the formula: ##STR1## wherein n is a whole integer of 1 or 2; m is 3-n; d is 0 or 1; p is a mixture averaging 8, 9, 10, 11 or 12 units and R is alkyl having from 4 to 18 carbon atoms and between about 0 wt% and about 45 wt% butylbenzoate to provide a 100% carrier composition. The carrier composition is employed for cationic dyes in the dyeing of cationic dyeable polyester fabric, particularly blends of polyesters.

    摘要: A dye solution for dyeing polyester fabric including dye, a liquid carrier, an acidic agent, and a thickening agent. The carrier is selected to enhance the permeability of the polyester fabric at a certain temperature so that the dye can penetrate within the fabric. A method of printing designs on polyester fabric including creating a dye solution with water, a dye, a carrier liquid and an acidic solution. The dye solution is applied to the fabric in a desired pattern. The fabric and dye solution are then dried in as drier so that the temperature of the carrier is raised to permit the carrier to enhance the permeability of the fabric and have the dye penetrate the fabric. The carrier is then driven out of the fabric by the dryer and no pressure is applied to the fabric during the drying process.
