    摘要: An apparatus and method for starting an engine having a starter generator for providing a rotational force to a pulley in order to provide the necessary torque to start an engine. The starter generator also receives a rotational force to the pulley wherein the starter generator generates a current when the pulley receives the rotational force. A valve deactivation system reduces the compression in a cylinder of the engine, thereby reducing the torque required to perform a starting sequence of the engine, either permitting this apparatus to be applied to larger engines, lower ambient temperatures, or some combination thereof.

    摘要: An engine with an electromagnetic driving valve reduces a loss during a cranking operation to shorten a starting time, reduce an electric power consumption for a starter motor, and prevent an interference between a valve system and a piston. Intake and exhaust valves are sequentially excited and started such that, after starting the cranking operation by a starter motor, a first cranking rotating speed can be reached, and the valves can be all closed at a predetermined cranking angle. All intake and exhaust valves are closed and the cranking rotating speed reaches an ignition point by the supply of a fuel and the continuous operation of the engine can be performed at more than a second cranking rotating speed, and the intake and exhaust valves can be switching controlled in the normal cylinder process.

    摘要: The present invention provides an engine starting method from an idling stop condition wherein a preliminary step pushes a pinion to abut with a ring gear when a vehicle operating condition is in an idling stop condition, a starting step rotates the pinion into mesh with the ring gear by a motor upon receiving an engine start signal and thereafter an engine is started, and a restoring step is carried out after engine startup where the pinion is restored to an original position thereof. Also provided, when the engine is stopped, a pinion is meshed with a ring gear. Upon engine start-up, a pinion actuator disengages the pinion from the ring gear and a cutout portion engages an engaging piece to maintain the pinion disengaged. When the engine stops, a releasing actuator disengages the cutout portion and the engaging piece and the pinion is reset.

    摘要: An engine starting apparatus has a first one-way clutch provided at one part of a series of gears for transmitting rotation of a starter motor to a crankshaft, and a second one-way clutch provided in a transmission mechanism for transmitting rotation of a recoil starter to the crankshaft. The first one-way clutch includes a small gear, a decelerating gear and a large gear. The small gear is connected to the crankshaft and has step portions on an inner peripheral surface thereof. The decelerating gear is connected to an output shaft of the starter motor. The large gear is connected in meshing engagement with the decelerating gear and has ratchets urged to mesh with the step portions of the small gear to engage the first one-way clutch only when the large gear is rotated via the decelerating gear upon rotation of the starter motor in such a direction as to start an engine.

    摘要: A system for cranking an internal combustion engine includes an electric starter and a current supply circuit having a key switch. By turning on the key switch, the starter is rotated to crank the engine. To avoid an inadvertent restart of the starter while the engine is running, a locking device that prohibits the inadvertent turning-on of the key switch is provided in the system. A starter relay may be included in the current supply circuit. The starter relay is kept open even if the key switch is turned on when the engine is running to prohibit the inadvertent restart of the starter.
