摘要: A laboratory system is disclosed. The laboratory system comprises a plurality of laboratories comprising one or more analytical instruments for performing a plurality of analytical tests (T1-n) and providing analytical test results (TR1-n) and a remote computer communicatively connected to the laboratories. Each of the laboratories is configured to define test result validation criteria (C1-n) for validating at least one of the analytical test results (TR1-n) associated with the respective analytical tests (T1-n) of one of the plurality of laboratories. The remote computer is configured to define a plurality of profiles (P1-n) of validation criteria, to assign the profiles (P1-n) of test result validation criteria (C1-n) to one or more of the laboratories (102), and to perform an automatic validation of groups (G1-n) of the analytical test results (TR1-n) according to the profiles (P1-n) of test result validation criteria (C1-n).

摘要: Aspects relate to calculating energy expenditure values from an apparatus configured to be worn on an appendage of a user. Steps counts may be quantified, such as by detecting arm swings peaks and bounce peaks in motion data. A search range of acceleration frequencies related to an expected activity may be established. Frequencies of acceleration data within a search range may be analyzed to identify one or more peaks, such as a bounce peak and an arm swing peak. Novel systems and methods may determine whether to utilize the arm swing data, bounce data, and/or other data or portions of data to quantify steps. The number of peaks (and types of peaks) may be used to choose a step frequency and step magnitude. At least a portion of the motion data may be classified into an activity category based upon the quantification of steps.

摘要: At least some embodiments provide illustrative systems and methods that may enable formulation optimization using one or more processor(s) that may be programmed to: receive an amino acid formulation request for an amino acid combination for a hydration beverage, the amino acid formulation request having a first set of optimization criteria including a first water uptake metric for glucose and a taste profile metric associated with a score indicative of an effect on a taste profile of the hydration beverage; access a second set of optimization criteria, including an expression pattern for receptors in the intestine, a second water uptake metric for the amino acid formulation, and amino acid data of each amino acid; and generate an optimized amino acid-based formulation utilizing a hydration beverage optimization engine to optimize a concentration of one or more amino acids based on the first and second sets of optimization criteria.

摘要: Methods are provided for the rational design of stable communities of microbes for benefiting the health of a host organism, including human and/or animal health. The methods describe design of microbial consortia based on providing and/or complementing key functionalities lacking or underrepresented in the microbiome of an organism having a disorder or disease as compared to healthy subjects. The consortia are designed to possess metabolic interdependencies for improved engrafting, stability and performance of the consortium. Compositions that include the designed microbial consortia are provided for treatment of disorders/diseases involving chronic inflammation, infection, and the combination of chronic inflammation and infection including inflammatory bowel disease and related disorders. The compositions are also broadly applicable for the treatment of neurological, metabolic and oncology-related conditions.

摘要: A system for sharing consumable inventory in a laboratory management system includes a middleware software component controlled by a processor, a plurality of instruments operatively coupled to the middleware software component, and a consumable item to be removably installed in a first selected instrument. The consumable item is used by the first selected instrument to perform tests, where the first selected instrument partially depletes the consumable item. The first selected instrument is to update status and usage information regarding the consumable item. A consumables database is operatively coupled to the middleware software component and the processor is to store the updated status and usage information in the consumables database corresponding to the consumable item. The consumables database is accessible by the plurality of instruments such that a second selected instrument performs tests using the partially depleted consumable item, based on the corresponding updated status and usage information.

摘要: Processes, as well as associated systems and computer program (software) products, are disclosed for the biological conversion of CO into desired end products such as ethanol. The control methodologies used for these processes can advantageously result in a reduced time required for a batch operation or other initial operating period, prior to achieving a continuous operation, which may be demarcated either by the addition of fresh culture medium at a defined flow rate or by another process initiation target. The control methodologies may alternatively, or in combination, improve a process performance parameter, such as productivity of the desired end product or bacterial growth rate, during this batch operation or other initial operating period.

摘要: This disclosure provides systems and methods for sample processing and data analysis. Sample processing may include nucleic acid sample processing and subsequent sequencing. Some or all of a nucleic acid sample may be sequenced to provide sequence information, which may be stored or otherwise maintained in an electronic storage location. The sequence information may be analyzed with the aid of a computer processor, and the analyzed sequence information may be stored in an electronic storage location that may include a pool or collection of sequence information and analyzed sequence information generated from the nucleic acid sample. Methods and systems of the present disclosure can be used, for example, for the analysis of a nucleic acid sample, for producing one or more libraries, and for producing biomedical reports. Methods and systems of the disclosure can aid in the diagnosis, monitoring, treatment, and prevention of one or more diseases and conditions.

摘要: Systems and methods for assaying a test entity for a property, without measuring the property, are provided. Exemplary test entities include proteins, protein mixtures, and protein fragments. Measurements of first features in a respective subset of an N-dimensional space and of second features in a respective subset of an M-dimensional space, is obtained as training data for each reference in a plurality of reference entities. One or more of the second features is a metric for the target property. A subset of first features, or combinations thereof, is identified using feature selection. A model is trained on the subset of first features using the training data. Measurement values for the subset of first features for the test entity are applied to thereby obtaining a model value that is compared to model values obtained using measured values of the subset of first features from reference entities exhibiting the property.
