The computing device section includes a computing device operating system area and a computing device general area. The database section includes a database section that includes a database operating system area, a disk area, a network area, and a database general area. The database operating system area allocates at least one portion of the main memory for database operations that is locked from access by the computing device operating system area.

摘要: In one embodiment, a processor comprises: a first configuration register to store a pointer to a process address space identifier (PASID) table; and an execution circuit coupled to the first configuration register. The execution circuit, in response to a first instruction, is to obtain command data from a first location identified in a source operand of the first instruction, obtain a PASID table handle from the command data, access a first entry of the PASID table using the pointer from the first configuration register and the PASID table handle to obtain a PASID value, insert the PASID value into the command data, and send the command data to a device coupled to the processor. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

摘要: Logical address space portions and virtual layer blocks (VLBs) can be partitioned into multiple sets. Each of multiple nodes in a system can be assigned exclusive ownership of one of the multiple sets. In at least one embodiment, for a read I/O which is received at a first node and directed to a logical address LA1 that is owned by a second node, the first node can request that the second owning node perform resolution processing for LA1. The second node can return either a VLB address or a PLB address based on whether the second node owns a VLB used in mapping LA1 to a corresponding physical location PA1 which includes content C1 stored at LA1. The second node can set a flag in its response to indicate whether a returned address is a VLB address or a PLB address.

The method further includes generating, by the first computing entity, an initial query plan based on the query request and a query instruction set. The method further includes determining, by the first computing entity, storage parameters. The method further includes determining, by the first computing entity, processing resources for processing the query request based on the storage parameters. The method further includes generating, by the first computing entity, an optimized query plan from the initial query plan based on the storage parameters, the processing resources, and optimization tools. The method further includes sending, by the first computing entity, the optimized query plan to a second computing entity for distribution and execution of the optimized query plan.

摘要: A computing system is operable to generate a plurality of lines of coding blocks that includes a plurality of data blocks and a plurality of parity blocks. Each of the plurality of lines of coding blocks includes a corresponding subset of data blocks a corresponding subset of parity blocks. A set of segments of a segment group are generated to collectively include the plurality of lines of coding blocks. Different coding blocks of each of the plurality of lines of coding blocks are included within different ones of the set of segments, and the plurality of parity blocks are dispersed across all of the set of segments. The set of segments are stored via a plurality of nodes sets, where different segments of the set of segments are stored via memory resources of different node sets of the plurality of node sets.
