    摘要： A collector for fecal discharge is provided comprising a self-expanding resilient collection component, a housing sheath and a transit component. The collection component has an open proximal and distal end and a lumen connecting them. The component comprises interconnected resilient arms circumscribing its contour, wherein adjacent arms are resiliently biased away from each other for exerting outwardly radial pressure for expanding and anchoring the component to rectal walls upon deployment. The housing sheath comprises a flexible and resilient material overlaying at least one of inner or outer contour of collection component without interfering with or blocking its ends or lumen. The transit component provides a conduit for fecal discharge to migrate from collection component to a receptacle and comprises a flexible, tubular sheath having a first open end connected to a second end by a lumen, wherein the first end engages with the proximal end of the collection component.

    摘要： The present invention relates to a self-retaining enema nozzle (1,1′,1″,1′″) and an enema system (34) comprising said enema nozzle. The enema nozzle (1,1′,1″,1′″) comprises a catheter (2) provided with a retention member (3) arranged for being placed in a compact form during insertion in a body cavity and for being placed in an expanded form for retaining the enema nozzle in said body cavity, and wherein the enema nozzle (1,1′,1″,1′″) further comprises a restriction unit (4) arranged for placing the retention member (3) in its compact form. Since the restriction unit (4) holds, e.g. keeps, places and/or maintains the retention member (3) in the compact form both before and during insertion, any discomfort and/or harm that may be experienced using the conventional enema nozzles/devices is effectively prevented.

    摘要： An apparatus for fastening around a cranial burr hole includes a substantially flat core and a shell encapsulating a ring portion of the core. The shell defines an orifice substantially centered within the ring portion, and has a contoured lower surface to match the cranial curvature. Pliable arms of the core extend laterally from the ring portion, each being terminated by a fastener member. A central portion of a placement tool for the apparatus has a lower part configured to extend through the apparatus orifice, and an upper part from which first and second arms of the tool extend laterally. Each tool arm is terminated with a receptacle to hold a bone screw, and, when the tool central portion lower part extends through the apparatus orifice, each receptacle aligns with a corresponding fastener member, and lower openings of the receptacles are generally oriented along the contoured lower surface.
